Historic features & gorgeous furnishings create a special atmosphere. Comfortably slps 6 adults (2 on sofa bed) - lrge terrace and lots of space to eat, chill & relax. On the ground flr (accessed via stairs) their are 2 cool rooms, and a pvt garden/patios & pool (June - October). Ebike trails can be organised by arrangement. The space The hamlet of Muzio is quiet and sleepy, with the bustling small town of Pieve Di Teco a few mins drive away. As you enter the narrow street and for left, you will pass the old buildings and go under an archway where you will see our double door nestled there on the right. Shared with one other apartment this leads up a set of communal stairs to the door to our apartment. Inside you will find a fantastic and spacious apartment soaked in sun all day, with gorgeous furnishings and little signs everywhere of its history as a convent. It comfortably sleeps 6 – Bd 1 – master bedroom - superking (also a single mattress on the floor for kids if required), Bd 2 – double bed with balcony (lovely room to wake up in), and the lounge which has a double sofa bed for 2 adults. Also, back down on the ground floor, there’s another room with a bed in it which is accessed via the shared stairway and has no toilet, so whilst we don’t advertise it as a bedroom, it’s a nice cool room and makes for an amazing night’s sleep, or just a great chill out room if its blisteringly hot outside during the day. The master bedroom (Bd 1) has a beautiful vaulted ceiling, with double doors leading onto a Juliet balcony looking out onto the street (not over-looked); it has an oak framed super kingsize bed, a large chest of drawers and a large 'reclaimed wood' wardrobe. There's ample space to pull out a spare single mattress from under the bed for someone else to sleep on. We have a travel cot in this room as well, if required. The tiled floor is covered in a huge persian rug. Our family of 4 (5 and 3 yr old) all sleep in this room when we stay. The second bedroom (Bd 2) has double doors to a small balcony, large enough to fit 2 chairs to enjoy the fantastic view for that early morning coffee or 'dust buster beer' at the end of the day. A large rug, metal framed double bed, chest of draws and chair, give plenty of comfort and storage for 2 people. Leave the shutters open and you have a great view to wake to! The Lounge has a comfortable double sofa bed which sleeps two. The same quirky vaulted ceilings as some of the other rooms make for a very special atmosphere and we’ve chosen the vintage mirror, fairy lights and chairs to complement it. Books, games, TV and DVD player are all in there to. We often put the kids in this bed, and spend evenings on the terrace drinking and eating, watching the fire flies, and listening to the frogs croak. Back in the apartment, spacious rooms are all fully equipped; a very large 1st flr covered terrace is perfect for dining, sunbathing and chilling out and has plenty of chairs and tables for games, coffee, wine and more. The Kitchen is new, with dishwasher, convection hob, standard grill and oven and a large dining table; a separate larder also houses a new washing machine/fridge freezer. Plenty of pots and pans, glasses, crockery and cutlery, a set of sharp knives, chopping boards, grater, colander and most importantly a corkscrew! The bathroom has a big shower, sink with lit mirror above it, a toilet and plenty of storage space. Beach towels/small towels (6 each) are provided. The electrically heated hot water tank is huge and has plenty of steaming hot water for lots of showers. Bedding and Towels are all provided. All mattresses have protective covers for additional comfort. The ground floor is accessed via the shared stairway, which has two large cool rooms and can be used for all sorts of things. The second groundfloor room houses a vintage olive press, a fridge so you have drinks accessible easily downstairs, and double doors which open out onto a large private patio, the garden and pool. There’s a wonderful and large willow tree which gives generous shade and is fantastic to listen to as it rustles in the breeze. Underneath it steps lead into the large garden and a paved pathway to the large pool area which has its own covered eating area. The private pool (from June - October) is 8m * 3.5m is decked and gated. It has plenty of patio area around it, with 5 comfy loungers, 4 chairs and a table with parasol and a fantastic ‘egg chair’. It’s important to note this is NOT a permanent and tiled pool. It’s an above ground pool sunken into the garden, and has a plastic liner which is kept clean with a natural sand filter and regular maintenance. It’s a great refreshing dip and fun for the kids. Garden - There's lots of space to spread out and enjoy the sounds of the Italian countryside from our neighbours working dogs echoing across the hills to water running in the idyllic stream, which is a few minutes walk away and amazing to paddle in. There are various bits of garden furniture, including loungers. There's a plum tree, cherry trees, and a Bay tree (great for cooking with) in the garden. There are fantastic views down the valley and hillside opposite and a fence and beautiful Olliander bushes separate our garden from our friendly neighbours on one side. To the other side of the garden is an impressive abandoned old stone villa which adds to the atmosphere of the whole place. Guest access The place is yours and yours alone. You can park in the garden by driving through the village, past our front door, and turning right onto land which we own. It's old terraced land which has grass on it and you can drive on it easily. Follow it round and you'll reach our garden, where you can park and get into house through the groundfloor rooms. The garden adjoins our friendly next door neighbours and you will see and hear them from time to time. Other details to note Things to do - enjoy the place, try your Italian, buy local produce (Vessalico, a small local village has the best Garlic in Europe), go down to the stream, visit Porto Maurizio for an ice-cream on the beach, visit Pieve Di Teco for a coffee in the square, visit Borghetto D’Arroscia and swim in the river pool with the locals!
