Magical Lakeside Yurt

Beautiful custom-built wooden yurt 4 miles from Athlone town and right beside Lough Ree. Unique, peaceful space, perfect for a quiet retreat. The space This building was entirely hand-crafted out of hand-cut wood, and it's a work of art. The photos I've posted don't do it justice. Aside from being beautiful and one-of-a-kind, it's comfortable. There is a woodstove that keeps it very cozy and warm. There's a very soft double bed, and an extra person can also be accommodated on a fold-out floor-bed. Electricity is supplied, along with basic kitchen facilities (mini-fridge, kettle, toaster, mini-oven and hotplate). There's a lovely eco-toilet cabin for your use right next door. I don't allow dogs because I have chickens, ducks and cats living here; it's a bit of a mini-farm. You're welcome to hang out with them, they're great fun! There is also a fire-pit, so you can have a fire and barbeque if you like. (I charge 5 euro for wood if you need it). And Lough Ree is right at your doorstep. Please be advised, I live in a suburban area and the yurt is in my back garden. So it's not really in a wilderness area, but it is very quiet and private. Guest access Guests have private access to the yurt and the shower and toilet cabins, and can wander around the garden and visit the chickens and ducks. Laundry facilities are inside the main house. Other things to note Please keep in mind, this is glamping. I'll do my best to ensure you have a lovely time in this unique space, but it's not exactly a hotel room. It's very basic and rustic, and you may encounter the occasional spider. If you're happy with simplicity and peace and you like going camping, you'll really appreciate this place - it's a lovely experience.
