Gently nestled between wooded mountain ridges in a romantic high valley in the Carinthian Nockbergen lies the Flattnitz – at 1400 meters above sea level. Here you can still take wonderful hikes in pristine forests with rich flora and fauna in pure alpine air, rest at numerous wild flowing streams and dream of idyllic, crystal clear mountain lakes. The Flattnitz is also ideal as a starting point for excursions of all kinds. In winter, if the manageable ski resort becomes too small, you can easily reach the Turracher Höhe (40 minutes), Obertauern (45 min) or the Kreischberg(20 min). In summer, in addition to hikes, there are excursions to the Karl May Festival in Weitensfeld (20 minutes), to Velden an den Wörthersee (40 minutes), to Klagenfurt (40 minutes) or even to Udine (1.5 hours).
