Luxury Villa in Kakunodate, “Sanrakuso”

This house was renovated from the former residence of the president of a company specializing in Akita's traditional craft of kaba-zaiku (crafts made from cherry bark), transforming it into a whole-house rental accommodation. We offer a variety of experiences where guests can 'apprentice themselves to a craftsman'. Beyond kaba-zaiku, we provide opportunities to learn directly from various 'craftsmen' – including fireworks, miso and soy sauce making, sake brewing, and Akita's local cuisine. The space Built in the form of a traditional Japanese house, Sanrakuso features various Japanese crafts from Akita and other parts of Japan.
