The Old Barn in Northlew, Devon
The Old Barn in Northlew, Devon
Description
The Old Barn is an idyllic stay in rural Devon, bordering the tranquil River Lew. The property is surrounded by countryside public footpaths which offer glorious scenic views of Dartmoor, and is extremely dog and family friendly. The space The property borders a beautiful section of the river and footpath, with guests having access to the river, 2 fields, a small pond, and small woodland on the property. Guests might see a chicken or guinea fowl roaming the property, and there are a wide variety of wild birds that frequent the feeders and trees. In the night you may hear the owls that frequent the trees of the property. The accessible fields are well-suited for games or picnics, and in the right seasons the river is a lovely place for skipping stones or exploring. There is an outdoor station for rinsing off anyone's muddy feet or wellies, for avid outdoor visitors. This will be our first year of growing in newly established spaces, so in the right season guests might also witness a range of flowers and vegetables growing alongside the fields and playing areas. Guest access Guests are free to roam or play in the lower fields and woodlands, although we ask that they respect the growing spaces and are mindful of the guinea fowl and wildlife. Other things to note We are located 4 minutes outside of Northlew, and it is recommended that guests review their directions before their drive, as mobile service is inconsistent for parts of the drive. You may see or hear the cows or horses in neighbouring fields during your stay, and most shops and services are 12-15 minutes away. It is rural but lovely.
