Bedrooms There are five bedrooms within The Old Vicarage, each individually styled with a blend of period character and carefully selected furnishings. Bedroom One A spacious south-facing room featuring a super king-sized carved wooden sleigh bed. Includes a comfortable armchair and enjoys stunning panoramic countryside views. Bedroom Two An elegant south-facing room with a king-sized bed, soft colour palette and luxurious furnishings. Features a cast iron fireplace and antique furniture. Bedroom Three A charming double room centred around an antique brass bed, complemented by rugs, mirrors and traditional furnishings for a calm, restful feel. Bedroom Four A cosy twin room with warm autumnal tones, overlooking the garden and wooded valley of Swaledale, with plenty of morning light. Bedroom Five A comfortable single room with antique furniture and countryside views towards Richmond and southern Swaledale. Each bedrooom has its own individual 'picture postcard' view of the surrounding countryside, whether it's across to the wooded valleys and river or over the gardens and surrounding meadowland. Beds are made up with high-quality linen, and towels are provided. Bathrooms The Old Vicarage has three first-floor bathrooms and a spacious downstairs cloakroom. Bathroom One – Large and elegant, with a Victorian-style bath, bidet and underfloor heating. Bathroom Two – Modern, with a large walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Bathroom Three – Contemporary shower room with chrome fittings and heated towel rail. Cloakroom – Convenient ground-floor WC with space for coats and boots. Gardens & grounds The Old Vicarage is set within spacious grounds, offering a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Guests also have access to a private stretch of river for fishing or family picnic. Multiple seating areas, including a swing seat perfectly positioned for panoramic views, provide the ideal spot for everything from morning coffee to evening drinks. There’s plenty of space for outdoor dining, games with the kids, or simply unwinding. The property also offers ample parking, secure storage for bikes and equipment, and a converted Pool Stable with a full-sized pool table. The nearby leisure facilities are set within beautifully landscaped gardens just a short stroll from the house. Outside the boundaries of the garden, our pastures are extensively grazed all year round by our friendly Highland cattle. These wonderful animals are a huge hit with guests and many visitors take the opportunity to get to know them better. Children in particular love to comb their long coats! Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the entire property, its grounds, and the nearby private leisure facilities for the duration of their stay. Other things to note We aim to make your stay as comfortable and effortless as possible, with a range of thoughtful touches and practical extras. Pets Well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement and love the surrounding countryside and walks from the doorstep. A surcharge of £40 per dog applies. Dogs must be supervised at all times and are not permitted in the house itself. A dedicated pet room with courtyard access is provided, which suits many guests and their dogs, but may not be suitable for all - please discuss with us before booking. We kindly ask that owners clean up after their pets both inside and outside the property. The approach is straightforward and suitable for standard vehicles, and the setting rewards you with privacy and beautiful countryside views. Housekeeping deposit A refundable housekeeping deposit/ damage retainer of £500 is required prior to arrival. This is returned promptly after your stay, subject to no damage or additional cleaning requirements.
