Trails End, Historic cabin on Bear Creek

This cabin is perfect for your escape to Alaska. Tucked into the trees next to Bear Creek, 3/4 of a mile from the Gulkana River, it’s perfectly situated to start your next adventure or simply get away. Inside, guests find two queen beds, cozy living room with wood and gas fireplace and a large screen smart projector TV. Experience this historic Alaskan cabin with all the modern conveniences. The space Built in 1947, this cabin is one of the original buildings from Alaska’s homesteading period. Taking a walk through… Starting with an oversized Arctic entry way you’ll move into the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare and entertain (minus the food and drinks, you’ll need to bring those). In the dining room and throughout the cabin, you’ll find historic pictures, postcards and antiques unique to the Copper River Valley. The kitchen opens into the main room which is the living room and bedroom. This open floor plan is as close to the original design as possible. Many original features of the cabin have been preserved and restored, including the kitchen ceilings, main room floor, logs and trusses. Last but not least, there is a full bathroom (soaps, bodywash and conditioner provided). Guest access The entire cabin is yours, no shared spaces! There is a large parking area in front of and to the left of the cabin. Feel free to check out Bear Creek in the backyard and if you’re interested in a more adventurous experience, ask the hosts about the bluff trail to the river or book a dog mushing tour with Bruce at Trails End Kennel (depending upon availability).
