The cottage is situated about 20 metres from the main house, directed at the gravel road that passes by the property. It has its own parking space right in front of the front door. Other things to note Welcome to Our Little Farm in Sweden We're Katrin and Kai — two native Germans who decided a few years ago that life was too short to stay on the well-worn path. In 2019, we took the leap: we quit our jobs, sold the house, packed up our two kids and our dog, and set off for nearly a year of adventure in New Zealand. That journey changed us. Coming back to Germany after a long stretch of wide-open landscapes, unhurried days, and a completely different rhythm of life — we couldn't just slip back into the old routine. We tried, though. We spent another year and a half in Northern Germany with school, village life and nice folks around, but our hearts were already pointing north. Further north. So we made the move to Sweden. Today we're building a small farm — piece by piece, project by project. Our daughter still lives with us, and is, being an author, very much part of the daily life here. Our son moved to Stockholm. Then there are our two dogs: Hazel, a young and energetic Malinois who's about a year old and keeps everyone on their toes, and Tarja, our wise eight-year-old Romanian street dog with a calm soul and a story of her own. Add to that a flock of rabbits, a handful of chickens, and some quail, and you've got a lively little household. What we love most is the Swedish nature around us — the quiet forests, the changing seasons, the light that stretches endlessly in summer and wraps everything in stillness during winter. It's beautiful in a way that puts things into perspective. We want to share that feeling with visitors from all over the world.
