Hirtle's Hideaway - Kingsburg Cabin 5 min to Beach
Description
Welcome to Hirtle’s Hideaway in Kingsburg - 5 mins to Hirtle’s Beach & Gaff Point, 15 to The Ovens, 20 to Lunenburg. This tiny cabin was hand built by me for a relaxed, nature-filled escape, surrounded by forest and wildlife beyond the glass. Oversized windows bring in light and immersive views. Solar powered with TV, fireplace & kitchenette. Outside: Cold rinse shower, Blackstone, propane burner, firepit & composting toilet in a small (unheated) space off the patio. Sleeps 3 (queen + sofa bed). The space Please note the cabin has an outdoor cold rinse shower only - please bring your own towels should you chose to use it! The shower is operational until mid-October and reopens mid-May. I built this cabin by hand over the past year. I love the tiny cabin lifestyle and have taken my knowledge of two previous builds to create a unique, comfortable and memorable experience. Be sure to read the full description for an understanding of how the property works and the limitations of tiny cabin living. The cabin is set on a very quiet road (which you can see the ocean from) that is fully serviced year round. It is built directly in the trees - my goal was to remove as few as possible. There are no visible neighbours - you'll love the private setting. Inside the cabin there is a comfy queen bed, a sofa that functions as both oversized seating for snuggling up to enjoy the forest views or one of the many DVDs and a large single bed (with mattress pad provided). There is a kitchen prep area with lots of supplies to make your stay easy. We've provided lots of options for entertainment on rainy days including books, games, and colouring. The cabin is solar powered and does not have wifi (although the cell phone signal is very strong). The TV can function with the collection of DVDs or by using your cell phones hot spot wifi. The solar power system powers the lighting, TV, ornamental fireplace (no heat, just an LED fire screen), and allows for device charging. The solar power system has limitations and is not suitable for powering heating electronics like hair appliances, toasters, etc. We provide one 18L jug of water per night of stay for drinking, teeth brushing, and washing up. You can bring as much as you'd like with you. There is not hot water on site except for boiling it yourself. The cooking happens outdoors on the 22" Blackstone grill and propane burner. There is no fridge, but there is a cooler for your use. We recommend bringing ice in the summer. There are three outdoor chairs and a fire pit. We provide a starter bundle of fire wood and supplies to light it. The "outhouse" area is located off the patio. There is a composting toilet in an unheated enclosed space that is very easy to use. You'll love the immersive forest experience, natural light and private setting of Hirtle's Hideaway! Guest access Guests have private access to Hirtle's Hideaway during their stay. Other things to note We are pleased to welcome small and hypoallergenic/non-shedding dogs only at the property. I have a senior shih tzu who stays with us when we visit! Please be sure you have read and understand the limitations of our tiny cabin, including: - Small space (240 sf). - Composting toilet only, located off the patio in an unheated space. - Solar power limit - no heating appliances, hair tools, toasters, coffee makers, etc. to be used (the cabin is heated by a propane heater). - Water limit - we provide 18L of potable water per night. - We ask guests to ensure all dishes are washed or bring/use compostable dishware. - Towels are not provided. - No wifi - TV is for DVDs or using your hot spot. - There is not hot water on site except for boiling it yourself.
