Queen Mary Cottage is a charming, 2-bedroom cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 1 double room and 1 twin room, with 1 family bathroom. The cottage is a semi-detached (alongside Anne Boleyn Cottage), two-storey property with a well-equipped open plan kitchen/dining area and spacious living room that leads out through French doors to a seating area with countryside views. The space This pretty, 2-bedroom, semi-detached cottage is named after Queen Mary (the wife of King George V), who visited the Dent-Brocklehurst family at Sudeley Castle in 1944. The cottage sleeps four people and can additionally accommodate a cot. The accommodation is arranged over two floors. Guests enter from a covered porch into the open-plan kitchen/dining room area with a large under stairs storage (housing baby and cleaning equipment). A back door opens from the kitchen out to a small seating area. Off the dining area, and down two stairs, is the living room with two large double sofas, a coffee table, occasional tables and a flat-screen TV with DVD player, and French doors out to the seating area. Upstairs (via a carpeted staircase with handrail) there is one double bedroom with a large dressing area, one twin bedroom, and a newly refurbished family bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Situated just a short walk from the beautiful Cotswold town of Winchcombe, guests will be spoiled for choice when it comes to things to do and see and places to eat while staying at one of Sudeley’s cottages! Ground Floor Entrance/Dining Area Guests enter Queen Mary Cottage through the covered front door into the open plan kitchen/dining room. Beside the dining area is a handy understairs cupboard housing baby, cleaning and ironing equipment. Kitchen Area The kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, crockery and glassware you need for a self-catering holiday, including a Neff Oven & Hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. (See ‘Facilities’ above for further details.) A back door opens from the kitchen out to a small seating area. The kitchen overlooks the rear of the property towards the River Isbourne. Off the kitchen/dining area, and down two stairs, is the living room with 2 large double sofas, a coffee table, occasional tables and a flat-screen TV with DVD player, and French doors out to the seating area. Upstairs Walk along the carpeted landing to a doorway on your left to… Bedroom One The main bedroom is entered via a large dressing room with window over the main courtyard and furnished with a built-in cupboard, antique dressing table and mirror. Step down two steps to the bedroom, featuring a double divan bed with bedside tables and touch-dim bedside lamps, and a pretty window overlooking the cottage courtyard. Cross the landing from Bedroom 1 to the… Family Bathroom The bathroom with Shaker-style panelling has a large walk-in shower, a large sink with a mirror, a dual flush toilet and heated towel rail. Complimentary toiletries are provided including hand soap, shower gel, handwash, vanity kit, shower cap and toilet paper. Head down the landing and down two steps into… Bedroom Two This twin room with rear views towards the River Isbourne has two single beds, a wardrobe and a shared bedside table with touch-dim bedside lamps. Outside Guests have access to a private patio at the rear of the property with seating and a table for four. As with all the Sudeley Castle Cottages, it is a short walk to the shared parking area and to the Castle and Gardens. Guest access Guests have access to the whole property. Dog friendly: a maximum of 2 dogs (with an additional charge per pet). The pet fee is NOT included in your booking fee. A request for an additional fee per pet will be sent to you after you have placed your booking. Your pet fee must be paid for before your arrival date. Parents of young children should note that a river runs behind the Cottage car park. Queen Mary Cottage accepts a maximum of 2 infants. Sudeley Castle and Gardens: A booking made for this property entitles you to free admission to Sudeley Castle and Gardens, as many times as you wish during your stay. This includes general admission, during the open season, but does not include entry to special events.
