A peaceful ground-floor retreat at Ourtalhof, a historic farmhouse from 1792 named after the nearby Our river flowing through the valley. The flats, added in 1865, were carefully renovated in recent years while preserving their authentic countryside character. Thick walls, natural materials and quiet surroundings create a calm place to slow down in the beautiful Our valley of East Belgium. The space The ground floor apartment at Ourtalhof is a cozy 50 sqm garden flat with its own private entrance and patio. Guests can also enjoy parts of the surrounding garden and the peaceful countryside atmosphere around the farmhouse. The apartment is designed as a calm and simple space to relax, slow down and reconnect with nature. It’s especially ideal for couples looking for a quiet getaway in the beautiful Our valley. We are new hosts and currently in the process of shaping Ourtalhof into the place we imagine it to become. While the apartment itself is ready and comfortable, some parts of the property and garden are still evolving. We truly appreciate guests who enjoy the charm of an old farmhouse and are happy to grow with us during these early stages. Ourtalhof sits on a dead-end road with virtually no traffic, making it a wonderfully quiet place. The Our river flows just nearby — its gentle sound is almost always present. A short 2-minute walk across the field brings you directly to the river, a beautiful spot to cool off or relax on warm summer days. Nature lovers will feel right at home here. The RAVeL cycling path runs directly past the property, making it perfect for cyclists. We offer safe bike parking in a lockable shed. Hiking opportunities in the area are exceptional, with forests, hills and quiet valley landscapes all around. Despite the peaceful setting, small amenities are close by. The village of Burg-Reuland (1.5 km) offers a bakery with simple meals and several restaurants. There is plenty of parking available on the property. Whenever possible, we love sharing local products, including bread from the excellent bakery in Bracht and, once established, vegetables from our own garden. At Ourtalhof we try to live in harmony with nature, and we’re happy to share this peaceful place with guests who appreciate quiet landscapes, fresh air and a slower rhythm of life. Guest access Guests have a private entrance to the apartment and can access the space independently via a keypad entry system, allowing flexible arrival times. The apartment includes a private patio, and guests are welcome to relax in parts of the surrounding garden. Feel free to walk around the property and enjoy the peaceful countryside setting. We live next door on the property, so one of us is usually around if you need anything during your stay. At the same time, we fully respect your privacy. From time to time there may also be horses on the grounds, so we simply ask guests to be respectful of the animals and the space. Parking is available directly on the property, and cyclists can safely store their bikes in our lockable bike shed.
