Escape to this charming countryside cottage, the perfect hideaway for couples seeking peace and relaxation. This property is attached to the owner’s traditional Devon longhouse, set in a picturesque hamlet on the outskirts of Langtree. Adventure is on your doorstep, walk or cycle the scenic Tarka Trail, with plenty of stops for refreshments along the way. The golden sands of Westward Ho! are 11 miles away, while Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe are within 27 miles. The space Dartmoor and Exmoor are easily reached for a day of exploration. Just 4 miles away is Great Torrington, a town with strong connections to the English Civil War. It’s home to the Plough Arts Centre and 1646 visitor attraction, while RHS Rosemoor lies just outside the town, as well as Dartington Crystal. For a slice of North Devon coastal life, head to the traditional fishing village of Clovelly (15 miles). Step through the stable door into this gorgeous, cosy cottage which features an open-plan living space, with an inviting lounge and compact kitchen topped off by high windows and exposed beams and stonework. Snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of the Smart TV after enjoying a meal at the dining table. A step up leads to the sleeping area with a double bed and stylish wall art/lights. Just off the bedroom is a shower room with a shower enclosure pebbled base WC and painted pottery sink that adds colour and texture. A paddle staircase leads up to a mezzanine level with a latched gate at the top where you will find two futon-style chair beds, ideal for children, as well as a selection of books puzzles, and games. Please note this room overlooks both the bedroom and the lounge area and is not ideal for very young children due to the step ladder access. Outside, there is access to your own enclosed patio and lawn area, with garden furniture and loungers, here you can enjoy the evening sunshine with a BBQ and a drink or relax in the bubbling hot tub. By arrangement, the owner can securely store bikes, surfboards, etc. Off-road parking is available for one car. House Rules Additional information and rules 1 dog allowed per booking.
