Charming house in scenic surroundings on Runde

Do you want to spend your vacation in scenic surroundings on the bird island Runde, while enjoying modern facilities in a spacious house with plenty of space for the whole family or group of friends? Our holiday paradise "Jennyhuset" is a charming and modern small farm, which was rehabilitated and renovated with, among other things, a new bathroom and kitchen in 2016. The house has five bedrooms, each with its own unique style and color. Common to all of them is that you can lie down in a good bed and find peace to the sound of the sea and nature. The space Jennyhuset is located on the world-famous bird island Runde, in the middle of the sea gap on Sunnmøre. When I took over this house on the island where I grew up, my ambition was to create a modern holiday paradise for me and my family. Eventually we found that we wanted to share this amazing house we have become so fond of with others, by renting it out in periods when we do not use it ourselves. In 2016, we carried out a major renovation, including a brand new kitchen and bathroom. During the renovation, it was very important for us to preserve the authentic farmhouse style and soul that goes hand in hand with the surroundings and nature, without compromising on a high level of comfort and modern facilities. We have also built a spacious plot with a living wall on the top side of the main house. Here we have installed a large picnic table with plenty of space to, for example, set the breakfast table outside, or use the grill to prepare dinner outdoors. In 2020, we also built an annex with electricity on the property. It is located completely undisturbed on a hill on the plot, with an associated large plot with plenty of space to enjoy dinner outdoors on late summer evenings. From the comfortable sofa in the annex you can enjoy panoramic views of the ocean in all kinds of weather; from spectacular sunsets over the calm sea, to foaming waves in storms and storms. We use it all year round and think each season's view has its unique charm. Here you can open the large doors to let in the evening breeze on a warm summer evening, or fire up the wood stove in the colder seasons. Our house is idyllically located on the island, without any neighbors close by. From here, the road is a short way to both Fuglefjellet, Langenes Lighthouse and Runde Marina. In 2021, we also built a large private, fenced parking space on the plot. Here there is plenty of room for several cars, and a very short distance in terms of transporting equipment or luggage to and from the car. The start of the trail up to the bird mountain is a quarter of a walk or three minutes by car away. After the first climb, you can choose to follow the path that suits you. If you are lucky, you can see both eagles, great hornbill, puffins and many other bird species within an hour or two. For those who like flat ground best, a walk along the shore can be just as exciting. Here you can see both seals, otters and various bird species. At Runde harbor, which is a short walk away, there are opportunities to fish from the jetty. You can also book a trip around the island by boat to see the bird life from the sea and the beautiful lighthouse at Kvalneset. Guest access You will have access to the whole house, except for a storage room that will be locked. As our guest, you will also have access to the basement of the house. Here you will find a large selection of outdoor furniture and barbecue, as well as an extra toilet. Other things to note If you want to fire up the wood stove in the annex or the living room on a cool day, guests will find dry wood in the basement for free use.
