Cabin in Sonada

Take it easy in a wooden cabin atop a hill, overlooking the valley. The cabin sets at the top of a terraced clearing, overlooking few terraces and then the valley down below. it is surrounded by hills on all sides with nearby houses seen in distance. There are couple of house few meters away. Its not a crowded space or a village. Locals live in harmony and expect the same from travellers as well. The space Who is this best suited for? The cabin is ideal for those seeking to spend some time by themselves, in the hills, with a great view for company. Anyone facing a creative block in their pursuits and wanting some time for a quiet detox will find the cabin a pleasant experience. For those tired of the din of the metropolitan cities, the quiet here is very welcoming. If one likes to break the day with a hike, this place is ideal as there are quite a few walking/hiking trails to explore. As mentioned, the cabin has been kept minimally functional consciously to avoid clutter. Hence, those seeking a fancy and upscale experience might be a tad disappointed here. WiFi: There is no wifi provided. Airtel and Jio 5G works fine here. We have stayed away from providing WiFi as we want the cabin to be distractions free as much as we have within our control :) Shared space: The cabin has 2 rooms - 1 of which will be occupied by a TIEEDI member/volunteer. The other room is available for the guest. The house will not be available as a whole for any group. No Of Guests: We have 1 room available that can house 1 guest. However, if guests are willing to adjust in the hall (+2), we can accommodate total 3 guests in the house. (This house isn't best suited for couples) Kitchen access: we have a basic kitchen facility accessible to the guests. The kitchen is provided with Stove, gas, drinking water, dinner table cutleries and basic cooking utensils. Basic rations (Sugar/salt/tea/coffee/rice/lentils)are stocked up. Guests are expected to bring in their fresh stock of vegetables if they plan to make meals here. Nearest shops are 4 km downhill and hence vegetables cant be purchased last minute. ( We can help you stock them if given a 2 day advance notice ) No smoking inside: The house is a wooden cabin, hence smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. Guests are free to step outside to grab a smoke. Serviced Meals: If you want prepared meals, families from the village will be willing to provide the same, at an extra cost. These meals are simple homemade meals. There wont be too many options to choose from. Both veg and Non Veg can be provided basis availability. Any preferences need to be communicated well in advance, we will try to accommodate them as much as we can. There are no cafes around within walking distance. The nearest town is 4 km downhill. The nearest grocery story is 1 km downhill at 8 mile, gorabari. The nearest town is sonada which is 4 kms away. Workstation: The dining table can be repurposed as one during non-meal times. Bathroom: We have a shared western style washroom in the house that's shared between the guests and the in-house TIEEDI member. Outside seating: We have extra chairs and stools to sit outside and soak in the ambience. Managing trash: Vegetable waste is composted. Please use the labelled dustbins for segregating waste before checking out. AA kind request to the guests to minimize plastic waste in the hills. Linens and Towels: Bedsheets and blankets are provided. However, Guests are expected to bring in their own towels and toiletries. We can provide the homemade soaps here. Laundry - There is no washing machine in the house. Guests can use the bathroom for hand-washing their laundry. Drying ropes are provided outside the house for air drying. Directions: From Sonada town, take the road next to "", that goes to "Rajahatta Village". When you reach " ", park the car by the side of the road. Rest of the path tor each the cabin needs to be covered on foot. (an elevation drop of 20-30m via steps). OR You can reach TIEEDI by shared transport and then hike up (40 min easy hike. regular hikers can do it in 20-30 min). This is best taken if you plan to hike before 4 PM. About the road that goes uphill: The road is not tarred at most places, hence can be quite bumpy to ride through. We would recommend 4x4 vehicles for a smooth ride uphill. Parking: If you are coming by your own vehicle, once you reach the location, park your car by the side of the road itself. The road sees very low traffic as it is up in the hills. The house is around 100+ steps down from the main road. (5 min hike down)
