It has been designed to maximize airflow and views, ensuring you feel completely immersed in the highland greenery from every room. Staying at Rusty’s offers a rare opportunity to live right on the rainforest margin without sacrificing style or convenience. A Note on the Environment To preserve the tranquillity of this active wildlife corridor, the retreat is designed as an adult-focused sanctuary and is not suitable for children under 8. We also maintain a strict no-pets policy to protect the native residents that share our forest margin. Guest access Guests enjoy exclusive use of the residence and the surrounding five-acre estate. You are free to explore the forest margins, enjoy the misty mountain air from the porch, or simply retreat within the industrial-chic comfort of the home. The top acreage is your private sanctuary, offering a direct connection to the highland greenery with total peace and seclusion. When venturing near the rainforest margin, please stick to the established tracks. The local ecosystem is beautiful but deserves respect; the "Gympie-Gympie" stinging tree and "Wait-a-while" (Lawyer Cane) vines are present in the thicket. To ensure your comfort and safety, we ask that you stay on the maintained paths and admire the deeper forest from the safety of the porch or the cleared margins. Other things to note A small artisanal chocolate project, Crater Lab, operates quietly from the property. At times, guests may find chocolate curing in the kitchen or be offered a taste — shaped by the same rainforest climate that defines the landscape. There is no television on the property however broadband internet is available to stream on devices.
