Description
The apartment is on the 4th & last floor of a new residence. It is full of light with a large terrace. The apartment is decorated with my work, mostly paintings inspired by Yafo scenes. I always leave one small personalized work for guests for a souvenir of, I hope, a great vacation. Yafo's old city, the flea market, the beach and the port are all within a 5 mn walk. All of Tel Aviv is easily accessible by public transportation - buses or the new light rail, or renting a bike or a scooter. The large terrace gives a feeling of extra space. The view on the roofs, the mosque on the left and the church on the right makes you feel a part of this very special neighborhood. Whole apartment I am usually easy to reach through email or cell (except on Shabat and Jewish holidays). Jaffa is a key touristic area. In the Flea Market you will discover the sounds and smells of the small alleyways which make up this neighborhood and are lined with artists galleries and studios, as well as boutique and craft shops. At night, music is heard in all corners. Restaurants and cafes in Jaffa offer a full range of culinary experiences, street foods such as humus or knafe, ice cream but also fancy fish restaurants , wine bars ... For instance, one local institution Dr Shakshuka serves this unique tomato and egg based dish originating from Libya to crowds of natives and tourists alike. The Jaffa Port is still being excavated, but has transformed into a unique destination, still used by fishermen, yet hosting a great array of cafes and restaurants, as well as the Jaffa Port Market. The views from here across to modern Tel Aviv, especially at sunset are incredible. Meanwhile, the gardens next to the sea are picturesque. Shops in the old Jaffa, over the port area are unique. The small, narrow streets are home to small unique boutiques, design shops and other fascinating shops which you could even think are not shops. Very near to Jaffa, you will find HaTachana, Tel Aviv’s Old Railway station is a short walk up the Mediterranean Coast. Meanwhile the neighborhood of Florentin offers one the chance to see the ‘old’ South Tel Aviv – still to be regenerated with a fascinating array of shops selling all varieties of products. And, of course, there are many other great things to do in Tel Aviv. One of the best way to discover Tel Aviv is to hire a Tel-O-Fun, the green bikes available for rent at stations throughout the city (one is located just behind our building on Yehuda Hayamit street, and tour through the many kilometers of bike paths. You have bus stops to go to central Tel aviv on Jerusalem Boulevard (5 minute walk from the apartment). There is easy and free parking around Shivtei Israel street.
