Welcome to Rouncibal Cottage
Description
Welcome to Rouncibal Cottage, our little haven in the small but beautiful village of Cerne Abbas. We fell in love with and bought this 200-year-old cottage just before covid hit and started a long and loved family journey of restoration. The cottage was originally two farm workers cottages that were combined in the 1960’s. The space Bedroom 1 First Floor (The Blue Room) King size bed, built in wardrobes and cupboards, chaise lounge, mirror and bedside tables and lamps. Door through to ensuite shower room with toilet and sink. Windows to front and side of the building. Lovely views of fields and hills to the front. Bedroom 2 First Floor (The Yellow Room) Lovely King size Sleigh Bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet with lamp and a wifi pod. Windows to side and front of the building with lovely views of the garden & distant hills. Bedroom 3 First Floor (The Green Room) Pine single bunk beds with a chest of drawers and a wardrobe/cupboard that also contains a travel cot, ironing board, clothes drier. Views to the front of the building. Family Bathroom First Floor: Large digital shower, toilet and sink. Landing First Floor: Extensive well stocked bookcases Dining Room Ground Floor: A lovely half wood panelled room with dining table with seating for six people, fireplace & games cupboard. A clip on high chair is also found in the cupboard. Kitchen Ground Floor: Bespoke handmade kitchen cupboards with a quartz worktop. Fridge/Freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, electric oven & hob, Tassimo coffee pod machine & wifi pod. Utility Room Ground Floor: Toilet, sink and washing machine. Lounge Ground Floor: Two lovely sofas, a Poang chair, 55” Smart TV with local Freeview channels and the ability to log in to various streaming services (Guest subscription required), Bluetooth stereo system and speakers, Wifi router. An inglenook open fireplace (Not for use) Conservatory/Boot Room Ground Floor: Accessed via the lounge with an entrance into the garden. Tiled floor, seating and coat hooks. Perfect for changing out of those muddy boots after a lovely country walk or for reading a book in the sun. Outside: The garden is tiered over two levels with steps leading up to a lawned area and a separate space with outdoor seating for six. There is an extensive patio which is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine towards the end of the day when it catches the late afternoon sun. The area bordering the patio has a number of apple and pear trees and guests are welcome to pick the fruit when it is ripe. The lawned area leads through to a paved driveway and carport which has space for approximately 4 vehicles. There is no street lighting so when it’s dark it’s really dark so we would advise you to bring a torch. Guest access You have access to the entire house and the garden space between the garage and the house. There is a second garden area beyond the car port but that is currently out of bounds as we have had new turf laid. Please be aware that the first floor has a number of level changes as the house was originally two separate buildings and there are low ceilings on both floors so watch your head if you are tall! The garden is also built over different levels and as a result young children should not be left unsupervised. Free parking is available on the driveway where there is a car port and space for 3-4 cars. You can access the driveway either by walking through the garden from the house or along the road from the front door. Please see the photos in the 'Exterior' section.
