Lakefront property on Mount Desert

Please — from June 1 until Aug 30 we take reservations only from Saturday to Saturday. msg me if those days don’t work off-season. A piece of paradise on Mount Desert Island, located on a beautiful swimming lake on 20 acres on the island's quietside. Near to the best lobster pound. Great fishing and canoeing on the lake. House is a renovated old farm house. Non-bed sleeping pets welcome. Great for families who appreciate Acadia. We share a beach with 1 family, so please be courteous! The space You are going to be staying in a farm house originally built in 1870. From the porch you have a view of a meadow where monarch butterflies hobnob among the milkweed and deer nibble to their hearts' content. To the right of the house are several blueberry bushes that push out fruit most of the summer. The lake is a short walk from the house down a path through a protected forest that belongs to us. For many years in the 60s and 70s the house was owned by a counter-culture psychiatrist who used to meditate naked on the property and often on the roof. We -- a family from China and America -- bought the house in 2012 and righted it, adding a bathroom and a master suite, a new stove, new windows and layer of insulation that helps the house stay cool in the summer. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Guest access You can access the whole house except for one closet. We have lowered the maximum number of guests to 6. We can be flexible about children. Other things to note A family owns a property adjacent to ours. They are extremely low key. We share the beach with them on Seal Cove Pond. The canoe is common property. The kayaks belong to them. Please be courteous as we want everyone's vacation to be restful and fun.
