Gorgeous rustic villa on quiet, historic lane
The top, street level floor of an old Sighnaghi house built into the hillside on a quiet street overlooking the Alazani Valley with outstanding views of the mountains. With three comfortable bedrooms the house is perfect for a group or a family wanting a relaxed and private self-catered stay. Bathroom with shower, washer/dryer; gas heat in common space and bedrooms; internet; balcony with exceptional view; well-equipped kitchenette. Spacious garden with separate stairway down from the street. The space Beautiful and well-appointed street-level floor of a classic old Sighnaghi house built into the hillside of a quiet historic lane near the center of Sighnaghi, with gorgeous views of Tsnori, the Southern Caucasus mountains & the Alazani Valley. Three bedrooms each with a queen-sized bed (two of which also have a set of bunk beds), a well-equipped small modern kitchenette, a spacious tiled bathroom with shower, washing machine and (remarkable for Georgia) dryer. High ceilings, traditional thick stone and brick walls help keep the heat away in summer, while the double-pane windows, wall-mounted gas heaters and down comforters will keep you warm during Sighnaghi's chilly late fall, winter and early spring months. The house is nicely furnished, comfortable and is suitable for families with young children. A baby crib and a high chair can be made available with advance request. There is a parking platform at the side of the house for smaller vehicles. Otherwise your car can be left a few meters down the lane on the approaching street. For larger groups of 10-17, there is a full downstairs level (access via an outdoor stairway) which can be rented out in addition to the main floor. The lower floor of the building has three additional bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, a washing machine and dryer, gas heat and a large open room which can be used for gatherings and workshops. Contact me if you would like access to this space. Guest access A stairway from the top floor leads from the entryway down into the garden, with its stately palm tree, persimmon and fig trees and grape vines, and a large covered space suitable for outdoor gatherings or lounging out of the sun. There is also a separate stairway from the street down to the garden. Other things to note There is a key lock box at the front door. I will send you the code to open the box and get your key ahead of your stay. Once you have opened the door, please put the key back in the box and lock it again by turning the black knob. You will find a copy of the key on a string hanging just inside the front door that you will be able to use to lock and unlock the door from the inside. You can arrive at the house any time after 4 pm on the first day of your rental. Please check out by noon on your final day, and be sure to leave the key in the box. I will send you a hand-drawn map to the house ahead of time. Please don't try to find the house using your GPS navigator—it will take you in the wrong direction!
