Dog Friendly Log Cabin in the Woods

Tucked in the mountains just 2 minutes off Hwy 80, our newly updated log cabin sits on a spacious wooded lot with plenty of space to spread out. The cabin sleeps up to 6 and is pet friendly. There’s also a tiny house camper on site that serves as a private third bedroom. You’ll have WiFi, a large yard, and a comfortable, well-designed interior. Located in the heart of the gateway to Tahoe National Forest and the Lake Tahoe Basin, enjoy the Sierras like a local from our historic town of Alta. The space Main Level Living Space An inviting space to unwind after a day in the mountains. There’s plenty of seating for everyone, a gas fireplace, and a smart Roku TV to watch your favorite streaming apps. The kitchen is stocked with the essentials for cooking at home. The dining area is perfect for shared meals, coffee in the morning, or game night in the evening. Bedroom 1 (Main Cabin) A large, comfortable bedroom with queen size bed (and optional full size air mattress), dresser, and closet for your use. Air mattress and extra bedding are located in the closet. Bedroom 2 (Main Cabin) A cozy room with king size bed, closet, and a beautiful view of the trees and backyard. Bedroom 3 – (Tiny House Camper) Located just outside the main cabin, the tiny house camper serves as a private third bedroom with a double bed. It’s a fun and unique space that gives guests extra privacy while still being close to everything. Please note - Camper is "dry," meaning there is no heating/AC and no water hookup; however, most homes up here do not require AC to stay comfortable, given our temperate climate in the summer, so we encourage cracking the windows and enjoying the mountain air. Bathrooms One full bathroom upstairs with shower/tub combo and a half bathroom (toilet and sink) downstairs. Office There is a dedicated office space just off the kitchen/laundry room. Great for remote work, if necessary, although we encourage guests to come to the mountains to unwind! Outdoor Space The large yard offers plenty of room to relax and enjoy the mountain setting. We're dog friendly, so your pup can stretch out too. There is a propane fire pit and barbecue grill outside to enjoy the ambiance of the wooded area. We also have a long-established orchard on the property with apples, pears, and cherries - feel free to pick anything you'd like! Nearby 5 mins to Dutch Flat & community pool, 15 mins to Historic Downtown Colfax (and groceries), 40 mins to Truckee, 55 mins to Lake Tahoe. We have some amazing local restaurants: Hangry Howies (Alta), Dutch Flat Hotel (Dutch Flat), Monte Vista Inn (Dutch Flat), and Rustic Table (Emigrant Gap). If you need any last-minute items, check out the Alta General Store or the Trading Post in Dutch Flat. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin and outdoor areas. Garage and sheds are locked for owners' storage. Other things to note ******************************* Pet Policy - We welcome your pets! Dogs must be housebroken or crate-trained. No pee pads unless used inside a crate. - Please clean up after your pet indoors and in the yard to keep things fresh for everyone. - Pets shouldn’t be left alone in the unit for long periods unless we’ve chatted first. This helps prevent any mishaps. - Any pet-related damage or extra cleaning needed will be the guest’s responsibility. - Please respect the neighborhood.
