Mountain cabin with panoramic views in beautiful Tuddal
Description
My place is good for couples and families (with kids). Located on Flugonfjell in Tuddal. Prepared ski slopes start outside the cabin door. The cabin is located close to Flugonfjell ski center, small hill of 700m, nice for children. The cabin is 107 m2 + closed loft of about 20 m2. There are 3 bedrooms, two toilets and a sauna. The loft has two beds and works well as a lounge for children and young people. Close to Gaustatoppen and about 30 min drive to Rjukan in summer (the road over Gaustatoppen is closed in winter) The space The cabin has panoramic views of Gaustatoppen and the Lifjell-Sauherad mountains. We love to sit and look at the wide view, whether it's from the inside of the sofa or at the dining table. The cabin is decorated so that there is a large common room where everyone can have contact even if some are cooking and others are sitting in the sofa corner. You can also choose private zones, with us the youth have often retreated to the loft and played games etc. This way the family can function well together in the cabin for many days with it being just close enough. In winter, we usually make a toboggan run right outside the terrace. There is a fire pit for cozy evenings or for grilling, there is also a simple charcoal grill. Other things to note Tuddal is a small village with a local center with grocery store, handicrafts and building materials. It is close to Tuddal Høyfjellshotell which is known for its good food and which now also has its own microbrewery with sales of local beer and home-baked bread products. There are many excursion opportunities nearby. Nice trails, the nearest is right behind the cabin up on Flugonfjell itself; a great panoramic walk. Otherwise, there are trails and local peaks, and many small lakes nearby. Particularly unique is perhaps Gaustatoppen, which is a nice hike up either you walk or take Gaustabanen which is an old military facility and goes inside the mountain to the top. You can drive here in summer, but in winter the road is closed due to snow. You can come here on skis. For those who cycle, there are nice conditions inwards Bondal and up past Gaustatoppen. We have also brought kayaks and paddled on small lakes in Bondal. There is also water that should be possible to paddle on in the center of Tuddal and at the hotel. It is also close to the world heritage listed Rjukan (about 35 min in summer, in winter the road over Gaustatoppen is closed, then you have to drive around and it takes about 1.5 hours). There is a lot of industrial history here, the heavy water operation took place here during World War II and parts of the movie "Snowman" were recorded here. For those who seek challenges, there is bungee jumping from Vemork Bridge. Rjukan also has a sun mirror on the mountain that reflects the sun down on the square in winter. In addition, there is the gondola lift Krossobanen which was made so that the Rjukan residents could get up in the sun. For families with children, Bø Sommarland is a popular place. It takes about an hour to drive. There is a local grocery store - Joker - in Tuddal city center. It is open 24/7 all year (some times access with bank card)
