Shipping container in Barbuda

A nature-first, low-distraction stay with NO WIFI. OFFGRID! The space Barbuda is the perfect holiday destination because we are a very small unspoilt island with no mass tourism or big chain hotels. We are quite different to our sister island Antigua, sometimes difficult to get to but not far away. The Container Cabin is based on the North side of Barbuda where it is a little more windy, rough and rugged than the calmer Caribbean sea – but great for bird and wildlife watching, snorkelling, fishing, nature, peace and quiet and searching the beach for random treasures. You will stay in a well-equipped, solar-lit, container cabin with a platform double bed, a two mile hike or drive from the beach, but with amazing panoramic views of the Barbuda countryside, immersed in nature on the Highland area of Barbuda. You will have comfortable self-contained accommodation for up to two guests with the basic necessities of life outdoors; an outdoor shower and cooking facilities at a budget price. It has an indoor toilet and we supply water for cooking and washing up, and a five-gallon bottle of drinking water. Although you are self-contained you are next door to me for anything you might need to ask or borrow. The cabin is remote but nothing in Barbuda is too far away, it’s just that we have bad roads! It’s the only affordable accommodation on Barbuda with these views, but to get to the village or the beaches you will need to be a hiker – there are good roads for walking to the beach - or be travelling with a bike (a great way to see Barbuda because the island is very flat and easy to explore on a good bike) or you can hire a car. There is no transport to the cabin although if I am going into the village I will gladly give you a lift and you can get a taxi or cycle or hike back. Other things to note We are off the beaten track. To catch a taxi into the village or to a beach (if you have not rented a car) involves walking down the hill to the nearest main road (10 min) walk. We provide a local phone with contact numbers for local taxis etc and a bike to rent.
