The space Just 20 metres from the sea there is this exclusive two floor holiday apartment, which has been completely renovated. Casa Acquamarina No other name could describe better the successful synthesis of stone and sea. Once you have gone past the old restored entrance door and white wrought iron gate, one reaches the first floor by a stairs made from local stone. On the landing there is a splendid hand-painted rosone that originates from Vietri sul Mare (on the Amalfi coast). This was manufactured by the famous tradition-steeped company Vietri Antico and reminds one of a foulard scarf with its sea colours. All of the interior doors are custom-made from white wood one enters the living room which leads to a large balcony with fantastic sea views. On the left there is an arch, which leads to the second bedroom that has a sofa bed and looks more like a living room. Even here one can dine (chairs and dining table are available) if one does not wish to use the terrace. On the right hand side to the living room, there is a bedroom with an unusual white iron bed decorated with navy knots. The floor is made from Vietri Antico aquamarine ceramic tiles. The furniture is tasteful and very characteristic; aquamarine cushions on white wicker furniture. Everywhere there is a very well-lit ambience with particular attention paid to the choice of colour. Some pictures and decorative features reminds one of mediterranean style. In the entire apartment are beautifully moulded wall lights made of stone, another feature of arte mediterranea. The elegant bathroom is white and has attractive ceramics (greche) with sea subjects. There is a large tiled shelf (as you find in luxury hotels) as well as glass shelves which can be used as storage space. A half moon shaped shower cubicle (90×90 cm); WC divided by a white sliding door, bidet and window. Everything is meticulously maintained. On the 2nd floor there are a utility room and a kitchen. The floor and the worktop are made entirely of local stone. The kitchen is very well equipped with a large fridge-freezer and gas stove. The wooden doors of the kitchen units are custom-made. Passing through another wrought-iron gate protected by a glass security door and decorated with an anchor (made by a local blacksmith) one arrives at a 35m2 panorama terrace (floor also fitted with local stone) with a magnificent and unlimited sea view. You can hear the splash of the sea. An Italian would say: “Si ha la sensazione di essere su una nave in mezzo al mare” (Like being on a sea in the middle of the ocean). When the weather is nice you can even see the lighthouse of the spa resort of Torre Canne. The blue coloured shutters are reminiscent of the typically mediterranean maisons greques. Nearby are grocery stores, restaurants, pizzerias and bars and in the summer also a supermarket. The picturesque harbour village of Villanova is only 800 – 900m away. Villanova is a traditional fishing village. Large supermarkets and shops and boutiques are to be found in the well-known white town of Ostuni (6 km). Guest access Guests have access to the holiday home and the marvellous sea view roof terrace, which is of course for the exclusive use of the guests.
