Escape to a 150-year-old heritage cottage near Landour, where forest views and cool mountain air replace the heat of the plains. With no TV by design and an eclectic library covering history, wildlife, adventure, and more, this is a stay for those who value quiet, thought, and slow living. The space There are two beautiful, cosy colonial-style bedrooms with attached bathrooms on the first floor, with a gallery running around it. The rooms and bathrooms are well lit with natural light. You can step out onto the gallery to get a beautiful view of dense forests as well as Landour. View the sunrise as the sun peaks between the hills and listen to the chirping of the birds. Get your binoculars out and engage in some bird watching. On the ground floor there is a sitting-cum-dining room with wooden flooring, and a powder bathroom. The sitting room has an electric fireplace. The house has its own personal library…books collected over many years ranging from sports, history, adventure, autobiographies to pulp fiction. All the rooms have blowers and heaters to keep you warm. The beds have heated blankets. The Annexe comes with a well-appointed kitchen with all modern amenities. The kitchen is not available for personal cooking. There are two house helps who will cook and clean and serve your meals, should you have any in the Annexe. The menu rates will be shared once the booking is confirmed. There is a sit out with a bonfire pit. The perfect place to enjoy your morning cuppa while looking at the ancient trees planted on the property. The Annexe has a large, gated parking which can accommodate up to three cars, should you wish to drive up to Mussoorie. Only self-drive cars can be parked in the premises. Taxis will need to park at the nearest parking lot. Guest access The entire space is yours to relax and bond with each other. Thus, it is the ideal getaway for a couple or who desires privacy and comfort or a family who wants to explore the hill station and also bond over Board games and a cup of hot cocoa It is also a lot of fun for likeminded friends who want to get away together, far from the madding crowd! Other things to note The markets are about a 15-minute walk away and should you wish to order in, there are plenty of places close by that home deliver. If the hosts have advance notice, there is a trusted cab driver who can drive down to Dehra Dun and pick you up from the railway station or the airport. The same driver can take you around to places of interest in and around Mussoorie. He will charge you separately for this. Other things to note Do check the weather before you go, carry an extra set of clothes just in case you decide to go wading in the Yamuna at Yamuna bridge or trekking. A sturdy pair of shoes and a jacket/shawl are a good idea as the weather is changeable. 1 Personal driver/Nanny can be accommodated in the premises at Rs. 2000 per night.
