Home in Bodø
Description
Enjoy the views and the silence. Nice hiking opportunities summer and winter. Other things to note The small farm "Nyheim" is located in the village of Ljønes in Bodø municipality. At Ljønes there is a lot of visible history back to the Viking Age and the Iron Age. Here there are many burial mounds, and in Ljønesvika there are traces of a large Iron Age farm. In the forest and on the mountain there are hiking trails, and in the shore there are nice places for fishing from land. There are swimming areas both in Ljønes and elsewhere in the nearby area. One of the world's largest tidal currents; Saltstraumen is a short drive away. Other attractions such as Svartisen, Saltfjellet National Park and the slalom slope in Vestvatn are nice destinations for day trips by car. In summertime, it's light here all night. The Arctic midnight sun can, on clear days, be seen from the mountain Branden which is northwest of Ljønes. In winter, it is dark from November to January. When it is dark, the Northern Lights Aurora Borealis can often be seen in the sky.
