A passion. Torre Gigliano Ruvo di Puglia
On the edge of the fortified Fenicia farmhouse is Torre Gigliano, a 12th-century structure built at the foot of the Murge plateau. Torre Gigliano is immersed in an expanse of olive trees in the countryside of Ruvo di Puglia, a town rich in history with an important Romanesque cathedral and the Jatta National Museum, which collects an archaeological collection dating from between the sixth and third centuries. A. C. Equidistant from the Murge and the Adriatic coast, it is located just 15 km from the sea and Castel del Monte. Wrapped in a mysterious past that tells of templars on the Via Francigena, used as a watchtower and as an astronomical observatory, the house is enriched by a spiral stone staircase, unique in its kind and of extraordinary beauty. The tower has always belonged to the Fenicia family and the current owner, Alessandra, collected the maintenance work of her father Antonio, completing it and making this home a small and rare jewel for sobriety and respect for the original setting. It is part of a thriving farm that produces extra virgin olive oil and PGI black trojan wine. The fruits of a small organic vegetable garden and orchard are available to guests depending on the current season. To fully enjoy the palpable peace of the place, it is possible to have, on request, a personal trainer and wellness treatments, as well as excursions, trekking and climbing in the Alta Murgia Park, where you can recognize the numerous edible wild plants present in the area.
