Quiet Country Home near the Sussex Downs

Our home is situated in an acre of garden in a countryside position surrounded by fields and woods within easy access to A23/M23. Approx 15 mins south of Gatwick and 15 miles north of Brighton. There are a lots of good walks straight from the house and the South Downs are within easy reach. NT gardens and houses to visit and our local pub in the village serves very good food with a number of other good pubs nearby. Ideal for a weekend away or longer. You'll never be bored! The space Although this is a family home with 4 bedrooms, only three of the bedrooms are available to stay in. Accommodation is set up for 5 people. There is an oil fuelled Aga in the kitchen and if you are not familiar with cooking on one there is an instruction manual to help. There is also an electric oven and a microwave. Please note that during hot weather the Aga is switched off. There is a 2 ring hob to use instead. There is plenty of parking. There are lots of local walks and the Downs in easy distance as well as the South Coast. We are fortunate to have some very good pubs in the area, some of which you can walk to from the house. If you are into wines, the Bolney Wine Estate is local and offers tours/tastings and has a cafe and restaurant option as well as a shop. Also nearby is Hickstead Showground, National Trust properties and gardens and the lively city of Brighton. There are number of very pretty and historic villages of the Downs namely Firle, Alfriston, Ditchling, Kingston near Lewes as well as a few others. Local shopping amenities in Cuckfield, Haywards Heath and Horsham. We have plenty of logs for the fireplace. There is a small pond in the garden, deep in places so young children must be supervised in the garden at all times. As we are surrounded by woods and fields you may well spot a number of deer (sometimes in the garden), foxes, badgers and birds of prey. We have two cats which you will undoubtedly see in the garden or looking in through the kitchen door. Guest access SatNav will bring you directly to the front gates. Plenty of parking. Hosts who are nearby will greet you on arrival or keysafe entry to be decided on arrival timings. Other things to note Pond in garden so small children must be supervised in the garden at all times.
