Co-founder and artistic director of the CENTURY Paris brand for 30 years, I developed a world around the art of hospitality, the love of decorative arts, handmade and craftsmanship of excellence. To welcome you among my creations while making this wonderful region of Alto Alentejo known is my ambition. The space The Maison des Oiseaux was the object of a meticulous restoration of more than 2 years that allowed it to regain its beautiful pride, while offering to those who live there, a simple and relaxed art of living, quite current. La Maison des Oiseaux is located in the heart of the historic city of Crato en Alto Alentejo; the city, the birthplace of the Order of Hospitallers in Portugal at the beginning of the XIII, then seat of the Order of Malta a century later, is in Alto Alentejo 2 hours from Lisbon and a few kilometers from the Spanish border. By reinterpreting the traditional decoration of Portuguese stately houses – decorative paintings, stucco, ceramics, ornamental textiles – I combine my creativity with the simplicity and refinement of the art of receiving "alentejano". A unique place to discover, with family or friends, one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal, a heart that beats and that connoisseurs already consider the Tuscany of Portugal. Despite its historical importance, the city of Crato has a small urban center, which allows visitors to interact with the local population and fully enjoy what Alentejo knows how to best give: a place where you can recharge your batteries, being surrounded by nature, peace, clean air. of the local culture while living in the uniqueness of an author's house.
