Our charming cottage is equally popular with couples or families with kids. With queen & twin bed in bedrm, a sofa bed in living rm, bath, full kitchen & deck, guests can "cook in" or pick from four nearby brewpubs, or a nice selection of eateries. Cozy and full of art, with just enough room to relax and enjoy a break from day-to-day chaos of home! Plenty of parking on the premises. Guests must have a car to get here. That said, once here, the area is quite popular with VERY STRONG cyclists. The "back-hollow" mountain roads offer lovely vistas and are a big attraction for cyclist training camps. As longtime innkeepers, we fully understand the fine line between benign-neglect and conversation overload! In our Cottage, you have SWEET privacy, but we restock the home-baked breakfast goodies, replace towels, and empty trash each day, and we're around if you need anything or want to visit. How can I describe Nelson County Virginia without gushing! Scenic views that take your breath away. Nearby ski-golf resort (Wintergreen), Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, wildlife, quiet back roads (with monster hills for cyclists who want to strut-their-stuff), wineries, brewpubs, cideries and distilleries (for after the exercise!), gorgeous sunsets, shopping for art and artisan handiwork, the list goes on. Needless to say, we love it here! Sorry, I have to say the automobile is your best bet for getting around---though cyclist-Martin (from Holland but loves the steep roads) would suggest you could always try 2-wheels. (But keep in mind that he's pedaled his way through nearly 100 countries!) We DO allow PETS in our Cottage---but due to the extra cleaning required, we add an additional fee of $15 p/night p/pet.
