At WAMOS, we believe luxury is not excess. It is space. Silence. Intention. Care. This land has its own rhythm. The sun decides the day. The weather shapes plans. Silence carries meaning. ⸻ I WAMOS | Property Usage Guidelines I At WAMOS, comfort exists in harmony with nature. These guidelines help us keep our carbon footprint low while ensuring a peaceful stay for everyone. Energy & Water Conservation Please switch off lights, geysers, heaters, and air-conditioning when not in use and before leaving the room. Excessive or negligent usage may be charged. Power Supply & Generator Usage In case of acute power shortage, the generator is operated only for limited durations during the day. This is intentional—to preserve the natural rhythm of the mountains while keeping noise and emissions minimal. Water Policy Refillable water bottles are provided. Packaged water (Bisleri) is available on request at ₹50 per bottle. Kitchen Timings The kitchen operates from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Kindly place meal orders within these hours. Quiet Hours No loud music or noise after 10:00 PM. Silence is part of the mountain experience. Smoking Allowed only in designated outdoor areas. Please use ashtrays provided. Care for Property Please treat furniture, linens, and amenities with care. Damages or losses will be charged at actuals. Bonfires & Fire Safety Bonfires are arranged only by the WAMOS team and subject to weather conditions. Personal bonfires are chargeable at ₹1000. Wood is responsibly sourced by local villagers, and this contribution directly supports local children’s education. Personal fires without permission are strictly prohibited. ⸻ | Respecting Nature & Its Sanctity I The Himalayas are not scenery. They are a living ecosystem. No Littering Dispose of all waste—wrappers, tissues, and cigarette butts—only in bins provided. Carry Plastic Back Waste disposal facilities are limited in the mountains. Please carry all plastic waste back to the plains. Wildlife & Plant Life Dogs, birds, animals, trees, and plants are part of a delicate balance. Do not disturb, feed, or interfere with them. Nature Over Convenience Power cuts, limited connectivity, and slower services are part of mountain life. This pace allows nature to lead. Silence Is Sacred The quiet belongs to forests, peaks, and night skies. Help us preserve it. ⸻ | A SOULFUL GUIDE TO AULI I Where time softens and the mountains speak Auli is not a place to conquer. It is a place to listen. Overlooking peaks like Nanda Devi, Hathi Parvat, and Dunagiri, Auli unfolds slowly—guided by light, clouds, and silence. Mornings arrive gently. Afternoons invite wandering. Evenings glow gold. Nights return everything to stillness. ⸻ | EXPERIENCING AULI I What to Experience (Without Hurrying) Auli Meadows Open grasslands that shift colour with seasons. Walk slowly. Sit longer. Forest Trails Oak and deodar forests surround Auli—perfect for quiet walks filled with birdsong. Auli Ropeway A slow glide between Joshimath and Auli, offering expansive valley and peak views. Gorson Bugyal A gentle walk to a high-altitude meadow. Best enjoyed unplanned and unhurried. ⸻ | AULI THROUGH THE SEASONS I Winter (Dec–Feb) Snow-covered silence, white mornings, long quiet nights. Spring (Mar–Apr) Blooming wildflowers, crisp air, clear views. Summer (May–Jun) Green slopes, cool days, ideal walking weather. Monsoon (Jul–Sep) Mist, clouds, solitude. Travel selectively. Every season carries its own wisdom. ⸻ | SACRED & SCENIC PLACES I Journeys Around Auli Badrinath Dham | 55 km A sacred temple town along the Alaknanda River, watched by Neelkanth Peak. Urgam Valley & Kalpeshwar | 45 km A hidden valley of stillness, home to the only year-round Panch Kedar temple. Mana Village | 60 km India’s last village—mythology, waterfalls, and simple mountain life. Tapovan | 16 km Meadows, hot springs, and wide Himalayan views above Joshimath. Niti Valley | ~90 km Remote, raw landscapes near the Indo-Tibetan border. Permit required. ⸻ | MINIMAL MAP PAGE I A Gentle Map of the Region Auli sits above Joshimath, connected by winding mountain roads. • Joshimath – 16 km • Tapovan – 16 km • Gorson Bugyal – Walkable • Urgam Valley – 45 km • Badrinath – 55 km • Mana Village – 60 km • Niti Valley – ~90 km (permit required) Distances take longer than expected. Early starts are kinder to the mountains. ⸻ | TRAVEL ETHOS I The WAMOS Way • One journey per day • Return before sunset • Walk softly—sound carries • Dress in layers • Ask before photographing locals • Carry back everything you bring in Luxury here is presence. ⸻ | A FINAL NOTE I WAMOS is not for everyone. If you resonate with conscious living, minimal impact, silence, patience, and experiencing the mountains as they are— WAMOS is the place for you. If you are looking for excess, noise, convenience-driven luxury, or a typical hotel experience, this may not be the right space. The mountains demand respect, not adjustment. Please choose accordingly. — We Are Made Of Stories (WAMOS)
