Beautiful townhouse in the heart of twin Highland villages of Dunkeld and Birnam, popular for hiking, mountain biking, and other Highland tourism. Spacious four-bedroom, four-bathroom home, and two home offices (one with a fireplace). Fireplaces also in the lounge and main bedroom. Two bedrooms upstairs and two en-suite bedrooms downstairs. Kitchen and lounge on the first floor with a dining table for ten, plus a shared garden for summer dining. Off-street parking with car charger. The space Our home is a gothic Victorian townhouse built in 1856, when Birnam was the end of the railroad line heading north. It's a 5 minute walk from the Dunkeld & Birnam train station, which has direct travel to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness -- a perfect location for exploring Scotland. We're right in the heart of Birnam, where you'll have easy access to the Birnam Arts centre across the street, the Birnam Inn pub is also a quick walk across the corner. Or head across the bridge to Dunkeld for access to more restaurants and bars. Easily accessible for walking at the Heritage Woodland trail, lots of mountain biking, wild swimming in the Tay, and so much gorgeous scenery. My family of three (two parents, one child) live here normally, with our dachshund Fritz. We are away for a few months, and our home is available during this time. We have restored our home to be modern and comfortable, while preserving the historic character of the building. Licence No: PK13447F Guest access You'll have the use of the full house, which is spread over four floors. The entry is via the front door, which opens onto a lovely street in historic Birnam. We'll send you the info for the key lockbox shortly before you arrive. You are welcome to use the resident parking spaces in front of the building. You're also welcome to use the side garden, including the folding chairs and tables. Please note that these are shared with our neighbours, so make sure to keep them neat and tidy when you're done using them. If you need to use the car charger, please let us know so we can arrange how to use this. There will be an additional charge. Other things to note This home is spread over four levels. If you have difficulty managing stairs, this will not be a good home for you as there are no bedrooms on the ground level. One of the bedrooms upstairs is a child’s bedroom. As such, the single bed is a child’s size bed, and won’t be comfortable for an adult. Please also note that this is our home -- this is not a corporate AirBnB. So it feels comfy and cozy, but it is also not perfect. We love and enjoy our home, and we're happy to welcome you and hope you enjoy it too.
