Home in Brooktondale
Description
We are in the tiny hamlet of Brooktondale, ten minutes southeast of Ithaca and Cornell. The Brookton Market is two blocks away and serves coffee, breakfast and lunch, and draft beers. Brooktondale is nestled around Six Mile Creek, between two State Forests: Shindagin Hollow and Danby. We can see the Milky Way from our backyard. The space One of the oldest homes in the area, our house was built in 1865 but was completely remodelled in the 1990s. Our wrap-around mahogany porch is a lovely place to relax, and we recently built a wood fired sauna out back that we are happy to light for you. Guest access We are offering our guest bedroom, which has a full private bathroom. Guests are welcome to use our kitchen and living spaces as well. We love welcoming people to the area and pointing them in the right direction according to their interests. Wineries, cider houses, bog walks, waterfalls, and tasty restaurants abound. During your stay We live in this house, but not in the space we are offering. Other things to note We have a small indoor/outdoor cat whom guests are welcome to interact with, or ignore. We also have chickens in the backyard, and a beehive which shouldn’t affect you. We spend lots of time outdoors without the bees bothering us in any way.
