Leknes is approximately 10 km away and offers a wide range of services, including a shopping center, pharmacy, clothing stores, grocery shops, Vinmonopolet, airport, taxi services, car rentals, a cultural center, and several restaurants. Gravdal, just 5 km from Ballstad, has a hospital, emergency medical services, and a grocery store.
