Charming little red house in Fengersfors, Dalsland
Description
My summer house here in Sweden is a charming little red "Stuga" in a quiet location in a little village called Fengersfors, about 170 km north of Gothenburg. The house has a large garden. The rooms are all decorated with furniture from the 40s to 70s. Dalsland's most beautiful lake and coolest cultural center are just a stone's throw away. It is a small paradise in the midst of fantastic forests and lakes and close to culture and service. The canoe guests can use for free. 2 bikes for rent. The space The house was built in 1909. A typical Swedish red “stuga” with typical Swedish furnishing details. The living area is approximately 65 m2, divided into 3 rooms and a kitchen, a bathroom and a tiny glass veranda. The rooms The lower floor consists of the kitchen, bedroom 1, the bathroom, small corridors, storage and clothing rooms. On the upper floor are the living room and the second bedroom. The bedroom downstairs still has its original, rustic wooden floor and was wallpapered a few years ago with original wallpaper from the 50s. On the walls hangs a colorful collection of paintings with floral motifs. The double bed consists of two 80 cm beds (2018). The kitchen The kitchen is bright and spacious with large work surfaces and got its present decor in the 60's to 80's. Equipment: electric cooker (2018), wood stove, refrigerator and freezer (2011), microwave oven (2020) coffee machine (2020), kettle, toaster. The bathroom The bathroom is small but light and functional. It is equipped with a shower, WC, a basin and an electrical towel heater (2020). The bathroom has been redecorated in 2020. The living room A relatively narrow, steep staircase leads from the hallway to the upper floor into the living room. The 70s are ruling here. In the heavy, cozy pine sofas (3-2-1) you sit deep but comfy. The TV is of a much newer date, relatively large and flat and it has mainly Swedish and English channels + German ZDF and Netflix. The house has Wi-Fi. From the living room you also get out on the balcony. Bedroom 2 Up here you also find the second bedroom. It is equipped with two 80 cm beds that can easily be converted into a double bed. A practical clothes rack and a dresser are also part of the decor. Furnishing style are the 60's. The garden In the 1500 m2 garden that surrounds the house you can enjoy apple trees and berry bushes. If the apples or berries are ripe when you're there ... you are welcome picking them! In spring, the whole garden smells of lilac, jasmine and honeysuckle. A barbecue, garden furniture and sun chairs are also available. Guest access Enjoy the 1500 m2 big garden that surrounds the house. You are free to pick berries and apples that grow in the garden. You have access to garden furniture, sun chairs and a barbecue. Other things to note Good to know The house is from 1909. So it is quite old and behaves and sounds like old wooden houses do and crackles a bit here and there. The house is simple but charming - a typical Swedish summer house. I try to preserve the old style and renovate carefully. Some surfaces are a little worn but still functional. Pets Due to allergi problems pets are not allowed in the house. Wood stove The kitchen is equipped with a well-functioning wood stove that is easy to light. Firewood is included in the rent. Cleaning The house is clean when you move in. I would like you to leave the house in the same condition as you move out. Under the staircase you will find everything you need for cleaning (vacuum cleaner, brooms a. m.) Please avoid having street shoes indoors. Security The staircase to the upper floor is steep and narrow. I would like to send you additional information if this could be a problem either because of toddlers or because you are having difficulty walking down stairs.
