The space Welcome to Thimble Cottage, a charming and stylish seaside cottage in St Bees, Cumbria, perfectly located near the beach and within easy reach of the Lake District National Park. This pet-friendly holiday cottage is ideal for couples, solo travellers, and guests seeking a peaceful coastal break with countryside walks. The cottage features a bright and comfortable open-plan living space, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the coast or lakes. Unwind on the sofa in front of the Smart TV, enjoy the warmth of the bioethanol stove, and stay cosy year-round with underfloor heating. A double sofa bed offers flexible sleeping arrangements. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, Lavazza coffee machine, and dishwasher, making it ideal for short breaks or longer stays. Upstairs, the peaceful double bedroom provides a restful retreat, complete with a cosy electric woodburner and Juliet balcony. A comfy occasional chair folds out into a single sofa bed. The modern en-suite bathroom features a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC, and electric underfloor heating for added comfort. Guests are welcomed with a complimentary hamper containing a selection of essentials for your stay, helping you settle in from the moment you arrive. Pets are welcome, making Thimble Cottage a great choice for those looking for dog-friendly accommodation in Cumbria. While Thimble Cottage doesn’t have its own outdoor space, it’s perfectly placed for dog lovers, with a great choice of long and short walking routes just moments from the door. Located in the heart of St Bees, you’re just a short walk from the sandy beach, dramatic cliffs, and the start of the famous Coast to Coast Walk. Local pubs, cafés, and village amenities are close by. A short drive takes you to some of the Lake District’s most popular lakes and villages, including Ennerdale Water, Buttermere, Crummock Water, Keswick, Grasmere, and Windermere. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, and Wi-Fi are all included, so you can enjoy a stress-free stay. Whether you’re planning a romantic seaside escape, a Lake District walking holiday with the family or a pet-friendly coastal break, Thimble Cottage in St Bees offers the perfect base. Guest access Full property access. There is no parking with the cottage. The parking space next to the cottage belongs to the neighbouring property, please be mindful of this. Thank you! Other things to note Please note: Thimble Cottage is an open plan cottage, able to comfortably sleep 4 adults with sleeping arrangements comprising of; one double bed (upstairs bedroom) and a double sofa bed in the living area. To cater to young families, we also have a small single sofa bed in the bedroom, as well as a travel cot should you need it. Perfect for younger children! Guests are welcome to pull up directly outside Thimble Cottage to unload belongings, making arrival nice and easy. Free on-street parking is available just opposite the cottage on Finkle Street and Main Street, with no permit required — perfect for stress-free seaside stays. There’s also a free car park only a 2-minute stroll away, next to St Bees train station, ideal if you fancy leaving the car behind and enjoying the fresh coastal air. If you require an EV charging point, one can be found 0.7 miles from Thimble, where you can stop for a cuppa or enjoy a lovely walk either around the beach or back to the cottage whilst your car charges. Located at the beachfront, on the Adams Recreation Ground car park. Please note, the cottage has double yellow lines outside and it is not appropriate for guests to park outside and charge their vehicles at the cottage. Thank you for your cooperation.
