Description

A spacious, fully-furnished, 3-bedroom former family home in a quiet area, it's 5 minutes walk from the beach & 1st & 2nd Streets, the heart of nightlife in Holetown, St. James. The residence is equipped with Wifi, air-conditioning in each bedroom and cable TV. It's minutes from a convenience store, supermarket, post office and the shops, restaurants and cinema of Limegrove mall which hosts art exhibitions and other events. A police station and premier medical facility are also in the vicinity. The space The floorplan incorporates 3 bedrooms, the main one with built-in ensuite bathroom which has full-length mirrors opening onto a walk-in closet. There is a second bathroom, a kitchen with all the necessary appliances and a spacious living/dining area and television room. The furniture is a mix of practical with a few antiques including a chaise longue. IT WAS AN OLD HOME and THE DECOR IS NOT MODERN. The generously proportioned interior and high ceiling flows effortlessly from the open-plan living space to private ground level patios - one is completely covered and another partially so, allowing you to rest in the shade if you wish, and relax while admiring a view of the manicured grounds. There are hooks for a hammock. Guest access Entire house. However, it isn't expected that guests will have any use for the garage where there are some storage items, nor the laundry room, (the latter particularly in the case of short-term stays). Other things to note Airbnb is different from a hotel. This is a private home, not a serviced property with on-site staff or concierge services. I’m available for issues that genuinely affect your stay, but not for things guests can reasonably figure out on their own. If you’re looking for hotel-style service or ongoing assistance, a hotel will be a better fit. Property Overview 1. Style: Former family home with traditional decor rather than a modern finish. As an older, lived-in house that is continuously occupied, normal wear and occasional issues are part of the reality, and repairs or replacements may not always be immediate due, primarily, to reliance on third-parties and on-island availability. 2. Mosquitoes: There is no mosquito mesh on the windows or doors, so a typical level of mosquitoes for a Caribbean island home without full air-conditioning should be expected. Insect repellents are readily available at nearby stores, and guests are encouraged to choose products that suit their personal needs and sensitivities. 3. Garden & Cleaning: When gardening takes place after the cleaner has finished, cut grass or leaves may occasionally be blown in through the louvered doors. This does not mean the space has not been cleaned. It is not always possible to revisit the property between gardening and guest arrival, so this is simply an FYI rather than a cleanliness issue. 4. Maintenance: Some paint flaking on the bedroom walls. A few interior panels in the fridge and the walk-in closet door were damaged by previous guests. These do not affect functionality. Replacement timing is uncertain, as repairs here depend, again, on third-party availability and sourcing parts, which can take time since parts often have to be imported. 5. Pricing: Reflects the above considering its features and location as a three-bedroom house on Barbados' West Coast, near beaches, supermarket, mall and gym. We value mutual respect and a peaceful stay above all else. Most guests have no issues, but if a guest repeatedly looks for problems, misrepresents situations, or creates unnecessary conflict, this would not be the right fit and the stay might be ended early. This is a lived-in Caribbean home, not a fault-finding exercise — my peace matters more than money. Climate - Heat: Peaks in July, August, and increasingly September. AC in bedrooms, fans in other areas. Reduce heat by opening doors and windows for airflow. Tropical heat is a common local experience. Local Wildlife - Insects: Expect mosquitoes, sandflies, and other typical Caribbean fauna like moths, millipedes, beetles, and whistling frogs. No dangerous snakes on the island. Avoid centipedes. Location Not in Sunset Crest; no access to their pool club. Long-Term Stays - Rates (in USD) - Double occupancy: $2000/month. - Additional guest: $375/month each, up to four guests max. - Three guests: $2375/month. - Four guests: $2750/month. **Restrictions** No children under 12 or pets. Tennis Court - Adjacent Facility: Platinum Coast Tennis next door offers lessons and court rentals.
