Welcome to Gîtes de la Bernière. The The 4-star rated (meublé de tourisme) Gîte Vancouver is a spacious 107 m² holiday home on two levels, sleeping up to six guests. Inspired by Canada’s west coast, it offers modern comfort with air conditioning, high-speed internet, a private terrace, a fully equipped kitchen, and three comfortable bedrooms. Ideal for families or friends seeking peace in the countryside, close to popular day trips and the Atlantic coast. The space The Vancouver holiday home is bright and generously designed so that guests feel at home from the moment they arrive. The interior combines the typical charm of a French country house with elements inspired by Canada’s west coast— one of the places we feel deeply connected to. The result is a welcoming space that blends rustic character, personal details, and modern amenities. The ground floor of the holiday home, which was fully renovated in 2022, features a modern, fully equipped kitchen with a spacious dining area, as well as a comfortable and generous living room. The kitchen is fitted with new appliances including a fridge/freezer, induction cooktop, oven, microwave, and washing machine. The bright dining area offers ample space for up to six guests to prepare and enjoy meals together in a relaxed atmosphere. The living room includes a comfortable sofa, several armchairs, and a flat-screen TV with streaming access and French local channels. A separate WC with a small hand basin is also located on the ground floor. The first floor houses the bedrooms and the bathroom. Sleeping arrangements include a main bedroom with a double bed (180 × 200, which can be separated into two single beds), a second bedroom with two single beds that can be combined into a double bed, and a third bedroom with a double bed (160 × 200). All bedrooms are designed with comfort in mind, and air conditioning is available throughout the entire gîte. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, washbasin, and WC. Outside, the holiday home offers its own private terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue—ideal for relaxed meals and long summer evenings. Guests also have access to the property’s extensive grounds, which are shared with guests staying in the two other holiday homes. These include a 5 m × 10 m above-ground swimming pool, a large pétanque court, and a spacious open barn with table tennis and comfortable lounge furniture, making it a perfect place to play, relax, and spend time together. The location of the property is ideal for day trips to popular destinations such as Poitiers and the Futuroscope theme park, the historic port city of La Rochelle, the beautiful Île de Ré, and the sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast. Niort and the well-known town of Cognac are also easily accessible. Our aim is to create a relaxed, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere where all guests feel welcome and at ease. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the Vancouver gîte and its private terrace, as well as shared access to the swimming pool, extensive grounds, pétanque court, and barn. We personally welcome guests on arrival, show them around the property, and hand over the keys. Other things to note The Vancouver holiday home is one of three gîtes on the property. Each gîte offers privacy while sharing generous communal spaces. The quiet rural setting is ideal for guests seeking relaxation, nature, and quality time together, while still being close to major attractions and the Atlantic coast.
