If you love the outdoors & camping then you’ll love our beautiful old rustic house boat (Maggie May), she’s Moored on our jetty in the Sunday's River only 5 min from The Addo Elephant National Park Southern Gate. We have lots & lots of activities to keep you busy - Safaris into ADDO Park, River cruises, Sandboarding, canoeing & water-sports. Enjoy great views and amazing sunsets You can Braai/barbecue on the deck or walk 3 minutes to our restaurant A Taste of Africa. Life’s short Catch a tan The space The Maggie May house boat is the biggest house boat on the Sunday's River and is over 10 meters long and 5 meters wide. You will find an upper deck for relaxing and watching the sun sets or sun tanning & a lower deck with beds, kitchen bathroom etc. When you book our house boat you will be the only guests on the boat. The main bedroom has a sliding door and a couch next door which folds into a king size bed. There is a 2 man tent for the upper deck if there is not enough space in the cabin. We can accommodate 6 people but 4 is comfortable and 2 is ideal. The toilet is very small for many people and some might need to use the toilet & shower up at the house. The small kitchen has a 2 plate gas stove, microwave, fridge freezer, french press, and a Weber Braai/barbecue on the lower Deck. The back of the boat has a swimming platform & small bench for fishing. The houseboat has solar power and rainwater tanks. Guest access You will be the only guests on the boat. You have access to the whole boat, kitchen, bathroom, upper deck etc. Jetty nearby for fishing and the river for swimming. Our restaurant is only 3 minutes walk where you can enjoy a relaxed dinner or order takeaways to enjoy on the boat. KWIKSPAR Colchester and the BP fuel station & liquor store are right next to the restaurant. Pearson Park Resort is next door and you can access the spectacularly beautiful beach and Addo Marine section through there for a small day fee. Other things to note No parties or events are allowed to be held on the property. Day visitors are allowed on request and an extra fee will be charged We offer awesome Safaris into the Addo Elephant National Park with our open safari vehicles, we have a full day option (the best chance to see lions in the wild) and also for those with less time a half day option. Those who want to try something more adventurous, we have Sandboarding tours including a short boat trip to the dunes. We have river cruises, 1.5 hours & 2.5 hours. Canoe hire & guided canoe tours to our beautiful Alexandria coastal dune field which stretches for a distance of fifty kilometers from Sundays River Mouth to Bushmans River, and is one of the largest existing active coastal dunefields in the world. Addo Beach Safaris are also a Great way to catch the sunset and enjoy a relaxed walk on the Addo elephants park beach along the Sundays River mouth. Snacks & drinks included on our open safari vehicle. Trips last about 1-1.5 hours with our experienced guides.
