The space Once a working church, the building has been thoughtfully reimagined into a warm, atmospheric retreat that celebrates its history while embracing comfort, creativity and fun. Original stone columns, the pulpit, font, dramatic vaulted ceiling and arched windows remain proudly in place, now paired with leather sofas, vintage furniture, bold bathrooms and carefully curated details throughout. The scale is immediately impressive: tall ceilings, huge windows, and a sense of openness that still manages to feel inviting and cosy in all the right places. As a former church, the building proudly embraces its past. Outside, you’ll even find an original gravestone within the grounds — a quiet, atmospheric reminder of the site’s history and character. ————————————————————— BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS The property sleeps up to 12 guests across six double bedrooms (two can be arranged as twins on request): - Five bedrooms have stylish modern en-suite shower rooms with toilet - The Altar Bedroom sits at one end of the church and has a full bathroom next door with a bath - All bedrooms include quality bedding, towels, toiletries, clothes storage and blankets Please note: The altar bedroom does not have blinds on the large original windows and will be naturally light in the morning. Eye masks are provided. There are also two additional WCs (one upstairs, one downstairs) for convenience when hosting larger groups. ————————————————————— LIVING AND SOCIAL SPACES (DOWNSTAIRS) The main church floor is designed for connection, conversation and celebration: - Two generous seating areas are arranged around the striking modern fireplace - Vintage leather sofas and armchairs throughout - A pool table set beneath the original pulpit - A dedicated bar area with glassware and serving station (alcohol not supplied) - A piano for guests who enjoy making music - Multiple quiet corners beneath soaring stone arches and timber beams Whether it’s fireside drinks, friendly competition, or relaxed evenings together, the space adapts beautifully. ————————————————————— KITCHEN, DINING & LOUNGES (UPSTAIRS) A striking industrial-style staircase leads to the upper level, where modern living meets historic architecture. Kitchen & Dining: - Large, fully equipped kitchen set beneath an original arched window overlooking the bell tower - Solid wooden dining table seating up to 12 - Range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher - Pots, pans, crockery, glassware, herbs, cooking oil and essentials provided Upstairs Seating Areas: - A cosy lounge beside the kitchen with leather chairs and TV - A quieter seating area along the hallway near the WC - A more private snug overlooking the altar bedroom, also with TV This layout allows guests to spread out while still feeling connected. ————————————————————— OUTSIDE SPACE AND HOT TUB Electric gates open onto a private driveway with parking for multiple vehicles. Outside you’ll find: - A large grassed area alongside the church - A small creek bordering the grounds - A private outdoor hot tub, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day The stone walls and historic exterior create a wonderfully atmospheric setting, especially in the evening.
