Idyllic thatched cottage on the Baltic Sea

Our thatched roof cottage from 1910 is located in the middle of Holstein Switzerland on the Baltic Sea. With its natural surroundings, the region offers an ideal starting point for excursions of all kinds. The accommodation combines historic charm with modern comfort and invites you to unwind: whether on the terraces in the garden, with a good book by the fireplace, on walks or on a bike or hiking tour. Enjoy unique tranquility: in the evening you will hear nothing more than the chirping of the crickets. The space Indoor: The two-story cottage has 3.5 rooms spread over a living area of around 70 sqm. On the ground floor, a spacious entrance area welcomes you. The bright kitchen is fully equipped (fridge/freezer combination, dishwasher, stove with ceramic hob, Moccamaster coffee maker, kettle, dishes and cutlery) and offers an idyllic view of the garden. In the stylish shower room, you will find a spacious rain shower, toilet and sink with a cabinet for sufficient storage space. In the living room there is a dining area for 4 people. In addition, a sitting area with couch, TV and fireplace ensures cozy evenings. The ground floor is rounded off by the stair room, which is equipped with a desk. The Wi-Fi router (fiber optic) is also located in this room. A bench below the stairs is inviting for relaxing reading. Via the stairwell you reach the gallery on the upper floor. The highlight of the gallery is its beautiful, open design as well as a separate, cozy seating area with a chaise longue. The bedrooms are off the gallery. Both bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 are equipped with a double bed (160 x 200 cm) and spacious built-in closets. The double bed in bedroom 2 can be retracted to 80 x 200 cm if necessary. Outside space: Behind and in front of the house there are two sunny terraces where you can sit and relax in a protected area. In addition to a seating lounge with an awning, the cottage has a gas barbecue and various portable outdoor furniture and loungers - choose yours. Favorite place and tell us by entering it in the guestbook. Also in front of the house you will find a thatched shed that accommodates your bicycles, beach items, surfboard or your stroller. In addition, you will find other outdoor furniture, seat cushions and the storage space for pellets to operate the fireplace in the shed. You can park your vehicle comfortably right at the property. Guest access The entire property (about 200 square meters), the thatched roof house (about 70 square meters) as well as a separate utility house (about 12 square meters of usable space) and parking in front of the property are available to you. Other things to note The thatched-roof cottage was built in 1910 and was extensively renovated in 2025. Two (structural) features should not go unmentioned: 1. The living room has a ceiling height of about 2.00 meters. The other rooms have a normal room height. 2. The house is heated by a very efficient pellet stove and various infrared heaters that automatically adjust to the room temperature. The landlord provides the pellets free of charge. They are located in the separate utility building. 3. We currently do not offer a service for towels and bed linen. For 4 people, you need 1 bed sheet 160 x 200 cm & 2 x 80 x 200 cm, or alternatively 4 x 80 x 200 cm. For the bedspreads, you need 1x 240 x 220 cm & 2x 155 x 220 cm, or alternatively 4x 155 x 220 cm.
