Book your stay at our 150-year-old renovated Acadian Cape Cod-style cottage on the sea! Breathe the fresh air, enjoy the sounds and sights of the soaring hawks and bald Eagles, launch your kayak (bring your own!) from the yard and paddle the pristine inlets of Isle Madame! Our three-bedroom, two-floor cottage features a complete renovation, including fresh white bedding and towels. It's our home away from our very busy lives and we want to share it with those looking to recharge. The space Note: A BBQ is available, on request. Guest access Access to the entire home, except three owners closets where we store our kid’s toys and summer clothes. Other things to note We designed our cottage to have the amenities of home. In addition to a stocked kitchen (dishes, glasses, mugs, wine glasses, cutlery, pots and pans, wine bottle opener, etc.), you'll find a dishwasher, full-size microwave, Tassimo coffee machine (bring your favourite coffee pods), coffee maker, toaster, kettle and hand mixer. A full size washer and dryer are also available to use. We also have a fire pit (fire wood can be purchased at the Co-op in Arichat), large size campfire chairs, marshmallow sticks (in the wardrobe in the mudroom) and a propane BBQ available (on request). Please be respectful of the space and leave it tidy when you end your visit. No need to clean it, we’ll take care of that! We have a heat pump on the main floor of the cottage (you'll find a remote control on the wall nearby); it provides air conditioning to fully cool down the main floor of the cottage as well as heat for chilly nights (in addition, there’s electric baseboards in each room). All three bedrooms have ceiling fans. Please be sure to close all windows when you go out for the day and/or end your visit, as unexpected rain showers can surprise even us, the owners, when we're visiting our cottage. A stay at Sunset Harbour includes Wifi as well as a flat-screen SmartTV that features a Netflix button. To use Netflix you'll need to turn on the TV, push the Netflix button and enter your own account info. Please be sure to log out of your account at the end of your stay. For those who want low-tech entertainment, we have a selection of board games including Jenga, Battle Ship and Monopoly (in the blue trunk/coffee table near the sofa). The open-concept main floor and second level are painted to reflect life near the sea. Muted grey, white, dark blue, aqua and soft green carry a nautical theme throughout the cottage. As well as Annie Sloane chalk painted furniture ... one of my favourite hobbies. Our cottage is about 150 years old and has been moved at least three times (a few of those moves have included floating on barrels across the harbours of Isle Madame). While it's completely renovated, it has the *charm* of crooked walls, floors and lower ceilings. We appreciate these imperfections, and hope you will, too.
