Enchanting Suffolk Long House in Secluded grounds

The Water House is a stunning 14th century picture postcard thatched cottage set in 5 1/2 acres of breathtaking secluded gardens. Two reception rooms, dining room and kitchen with an Aga. Four double bedrooms and three bathrooms, one ensuite. The house is set in the middle of the land surrounded by mature trees, flowering shrubs and mature borders. The house is draped with stunning roses and wisteria. Outdoor seating in sun and shade, hot tub, and BBQ area. The space The Water House is a stunning 14th century picture postcard thatched cottage set in 5 1/2 acres of breathtaking gardens. Arrive down a narrow lane to our drive and turn into the property through the banks of cloud pruned box hedging. Walk along the curved path under the canopy of the quince and Medlar trees with views of the bridge over the river Dove to the wild land and the water meadows. On the ground floor there are two reception rooms, the main living room and the snug, both with smart TV's and vintage Quad sound system. The Dining room is set in the conservatory with a large table seating ten, lush green views all around, and a large crystal chandelier bathes the dining room in twinkly light in the evening. The house sleeps eight people, including a master suite, with a ensuite bathroom, 2 further rooms that share a family bathroom, and an attic room with its own loo facility. There is a further spacious shower room on the ground floor. All in stunning gardens with far reaching views across fields to the water meadows. There is a fully enclosed courtyard with a marble table for 14 guests. On sunny days there is a shady table that seats eight under a mulberry and willow leaf pear tree. You can add the use of the Hot tub by adding the resort fees, in the package you will have use of the Hot Tub, extra towel and a dressing gown for all eight guests. Stroll into the glade and you will find a pavilion with large six person Hot Tub looking out over the river Dove to the water meadows. We have an additional property on the grounds, the Old Apple Store that can sleep and additional two guests and acts as a master guest house. This property can be hired separately. All of this is embraced by exquisite gardens, sweeping lawns, and glorious views, making The Water House a truly special retreat. Guest access The entire five-acre estate is yours to enjoy, with far-reaching views across the River Dove to the water meadows beyond. The grounds include a generous orchard with over thirty fruit trees, among them numerous varieties of apples, pears, plums, damsons, greengages, cherries, and a magnificent walnut tree. A traditional walled garden is planted with a range of soft fruits, including currants and blackcurrants, as well as asparagus in the spring. The kitchen garden is filled with seasonal produce, which you are warmly invited to harvest and enjoy during your stay. Beyond the formal areas lies “the Wild Land,” a more natural landscape with mown pathways winding through long grass to a large pond crowned by a spectacular willow tree. This part of the estate is rich in wildlife; kingfishers and egrets are frequently seen, along with a host of other birds and creatures that make this a peaceful haven for nature lovers. Other things to note We have another property on the estate, "The Old Apple Store" that sleeps a further two guests and is a short walk over the lawn. It has a living room with a wood burner a kitchenette and a shower room and an upstairs sleeping area. This property is available on Airbnb and can be booked together with The Waterhouse.
