This beautiful stone-built detached cottage sleeps up to 6 and is pet friendly, offering 3 bedrooms, a cosy woodburner and a peaceful rear garden. With the moors on your doorstep and a village pub just a short stroll away, it’s perfect for exploring, then returning to relax, unwind and enjoy time together. Living & Dining After a day exploring, you can sink into the sofas, light the wood-burning stove, and unwind together. The window seat is a lovely spot for your morning coffee, a good book, or watching village life go by. At the dining table, you can gather for relaxed meals, board games, or long evenings chatting. There’s a TV with streaming options, but you might find yourselves reaching for the books, children’s stories, Lego, and games instead. Kitchen Your handmade kitchen is fully equipped for easy, relaxed cooking, with new appliances throughout. The small table for two is perfect for a quiet breakfast or a peaceful cup of tea before the day begins. You can connect to the Wi-Fi radio and fill the space with music - whether that’s something gentle in the background or a fun family disco in the dining room. A welcome basket of local Yorkshire produce will be waiting for you on arrival. Utility Room You’ll have plenty of space for coats, boots, and all your outdoor gear, along with a washing machine, dishwasher, and extra fridge freezer. There’s also direct access to the garden — ideal after muddy walks or days out with the children. Downstairs Cloakroom A handy extra toilet and basin, easily accessible from both the house and garden. Upstairs Bathroom You can enjoy a long soak in the bath or a refreshing rain shower, with fluffy towels and locally made organic soaps provided. Bedrooms (Sleeps 6) Each bedroom is designed to give you a comfortable, clutter-free stay, with plenty of storage so you can properly settle in: - Main bedroom: A restful double room with a large built-in wardrobe, dresser, and full-length mirror -ideal for unpacking and making yourself at home - Twin room: Two single beds with a wardrobe and generous chest of drawers, perfect for children or friends sharing - Bunk room: Adult-sized bunk beds with a hanging rail and large chest of drawers — great for siblings or a fun shared space for younger guests All rooms are dressed in crisp white bedding with soft, hypoallergenic duvets and pillows to help you sleep soundly after a day outdoors. Small Children & Infants The cottage is thoughtfully equipped for families with young children. A travel cot and mattress are available (please bring your own cot bedding), along with a high chair and bath chair. Removable sash-window safety bars are available on request. A stair gate is permanently fitted at the bottom of the stairs, with an additional gate available for use elsewhere in the cottage. Wi-Fi You’ll have fast Starlink Wi-Fi (200 Mbps+), great for streaming or occasional work. Mobile signal in the village can be limited — making it easier to truly switch off. Garden Your private garden is a lovely spot to relax, with outdoor seating for six (March–October). You can enjoy a BBQ, a quiet drink, or watch children play, with buckets, spades, and fishing nets provided. Dogs Your four-legged family members are very welcome at The Green. We’re happy to host up to two well-behaved dogs. To help you settle in, you’ll find a dog bowl, feeding mat, and a small welcome pack with treats and poo bags. There’s plenty of space downstairs for your own dog beds, so everyone can feel at home. A stair gate is fitted, and we kindly ask that dogs stay on the ground floor and out of the upstairs carpeted areas and bedrooms. The Green is enjoyed by guests both with and without dogs, so we really appreciate your help in keeping it clean and comfortable for everyone. Guest access You will have private access to the entire cottage and its pretty garden to make yourselves completely at home. Other things to note A few gentle notes about the cottage... Garden & Steps: The garden is fully fenced and has a few steps leading up to the main seating area. The tiled area behind the cottage and the steps can be a little slippery after rain, so taking things slowly is always a good idea. Historic Character: Being an older cottage, there are a few uneven floors and small changes in level between rooms, all part of its character. The staircase to the first floor is slightly narrower than modern stairs, so we recommend taking a little extra care. Village Sounds: You may hear the local church clock chiming, which adds to the gentle rhythm of village life. Wandering Sheep: As the cottage sits within the North York Moors National Park, sheep often graze freely in and around the village. It’s all part of the setting, and you may occasionally need to take a little extra care when driving and walking dogs. Parking: The cottage is on an unrestricted road, with free parking available directly outside. You’re welcome to load and unload on the track beside the cottage, and we just ask that it’s kept clear as it provides access for a neighbouring property.
