Guests will hear and are encouraged to attend concerts upstairs in Char's Landing. Check Char's web site for special events or chat with Char for more details. Owner lives in private residence (at the upper level back of the building) and invites CHAR's HOSTEL guests (at the ground level front of the building) to make themselves at home and enjoy the arts & outdoor sports cultural scene. Guest access The guest will be given their own personal 5 digit keypad code to unlock the doors but the official check-in time is any time after 3pm and check-out time is any time before 11am. Guests may drop off their bags earlier in the common areas. There are 3 lockers first come / first served. Other things to note Char's Landing is a former church, first service August 4th, 1912. Owner/Operator/Resident Charlene Patterson retired from 12 years working on the Cruise Ships and moved to Port Alberni to realise the vision of a safe haven for cultural travellers.
