Peace House @ Shekinah Retreat Center

The Peace House is a historic farmhouse part of Shekinah Retreat Center, located in Locust Ridge, Ohio. It sits back in a long lane and is extremely peaceful and serene. It sits on a 20-acre farm adjacent to the main Shekinah Farm. It has a creek, trails, rolling hills, and a beautiful pond that is stocked with catfish you can feed. The farm is in close proximity to East Fork State Park and the Little Miami. It is a great place for family functions, retreats, sabbaticals, and out-of-town guests. The space The QR Code at the end of the photo gallery is a tour of the Peace House and the farm. The main floor features a cozy living area, sunroom, and laundry room, as well as the Green Bedroom (the primary suite), complete with a king-size bed and a large bathroom with double sinks and a clawfoot tub. Upstairs, two large bedrooms share a full bathroom. The Pink Bedroom, located at the top of the stairs, features a queen, full, and twin bed, accommodating up to five guests. Across the hall, the Blue Bedroom offers a queen-size bed and a twin trundle, accommodating up to four guests. The basement level features two living areas, one equipped with a pellet stove, a half-kitchen, and a full bathroom, offering ample space to gather and relax. Outside, there is a fire pit, trails, kayaking, and fish to feed. On the Shekinah Farm, there are more opportunities for hiking, fishing, kayaking, and playsets to play on, among other things. The Peace House comes equipped with filtered drinking water in the kitchen. We also have protective covers on all mattresses and pillows to ensure a peaceful, comfortable stay. Other things to note As a guest in the Peace House, we ask that you treat everything with care and respect, and that you try to leave the house in as good a condition as you found it. We ask that you remove your shoes by the door or put on the provided footies when entering the home. We ask that you refrain from eating on any carpeted or upholstered areas to eliminate the possibility of large messes. And we also ask that you do not wash food waste down the kitchen sink, as there is no garbage disposal. This is a smoke- and pet-free house; please refrain from bringing either into the home. If you smoke outside, please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground. Please don't move furniture or borrow items from the other houses without consulting us first. We ask that you return everything you get out to its proper place where you found it before you leave. We ask that you treat everything with care and respect. We try to keep Shekinah Retreat Center as child-friendly as possible. There are games in the blue bedroom on the second floor and on the bookshelf in the living room (as well as a small stool for the bathroom sink in the second-floor bathroom). That said, parents are responsible for ensuring their children’s safety at all times. Please keep good supervision of your children at all times on the property.
