Tranquil stone house by lovely lake

(Alojamento Local 1945) Our lovely stone house is perfectly situated in the Ribatejan countryside a stone throw away from Castelo do Bode - one of the biggest lakes in Portugal. You can walk to the lake and be splashing about in less than 5 minutes. It is incredibly peaceful and we always come away from the house with our batteries totally recharged. The space The house is really comfortable and has a large living room with a cast iron stove. It has two bedrooms upstairs - one with a king size bed and a single and the other with 3 single beds. The kitchen is very well-equipped with all machines including a hand blender and food mixer. We have a store cupboard we keep well stocked so you will always find olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and herbs and spices. We also have good chopping knives as it is a great place to cook. We love our outdoor dining area even though we have a dining room indoors. It´s great to have lots of good food and wine into the evening and night and then do a bit of star gazing. The sky is amazingly clear at night. The wildlife is exciting too so we keep lots of books on the local birds and plants. If you sit in the garden really still, you will be amazed at the different types of birds that fly in and out. Guest access You will have access to lots of countryside and an impressive lake that is wonderful to swim in especially in the summer months. We have bicycles for those of you who are really energetic. Badminton set and net for those who don´t want to go far and board games for those of you who want a more sedate holiday. Everything is provided including a welcome pack - so handy if you arrive late or tired - there is nothing better than a cup of coffee or tea to settle in with. The countryside is so wonderful we didn´t think you would need a tv to entertain you. However, we enjoy music so there is a music centre where you can listen to our CDs or plug in your MP3 player.
