Old Charm and Quirk

Stay in an old charm home in East Kempsey with views across the mighty Macleay river. Centrally located, enjoy walking over the bridge to all your needs and shopping. Only 25 mins to the beautiful beaches of Crescent Head, Hat Head and South West Rocks. 30 mins to Port Macquarie and an hour to places like Bellbrook, Bellingen, Nambucca Heads and Coffs Harbour..... So much to explore... Nature, drives and food! Great homely base whether for the night or a few.... The space Originally built in the 1940s-50s this home has seen some changes but continues to maintain its charm thanks to restoration in the 1960s and then in 1990s with the second floor added on. It has its quirks and creaks with restored original wood flooring. The living room you will stay in is the most original part of the house and maintains most of the original features so you can see where this home began. I have not provided a TV so guests can enjoy the feel of older times and maybe listen to a few records on the record player instead. There is free Telstra wifi to enable guests to still enjoy modern conveniences through their devices. If you are travelling with your fur baby they are also welcome with the front verandah having secure gate so all can relax Just a lead when outdoors. Great spot for morning walk along the river too. Clean and tidy, double bed with linen included and extra single trundle if needed. There are 4 resident cats that spend most their time laying in various areas of in the rear of the property so you might not see them but feel free to give them a pat or hello if you like. They are unable to access in the guest accommodation. Enjoy visits from the local Magpies, Butcher birds, Bower Birds to name a few. Watch the bats take their daily dusk flight as you relax on the verandah and watch the world go by. You might also spot one of the many Blue Tongues who enjoy being out and about in the garden. Take a wander and discover some historical East Kempsey homes on what is known as the "Walks in History" Guest access You will have full private access to your own - Lockable Bedroom (with ensuite) - Separate Lounge/kitchenette - Verandah and balcony - Front entry to premises - Use of front garden - Verandah and balcony off bedroom I provide my guests with the most privacy as possible to be able to enjoy the space without interruption to their stay.
