The Rook- A perfect little countryside retreat

The Rook is situated within the garden of our lovingly restored grade ll listed cottage. Barn-like in structure, it's a bright and airy space providing a simple yet stylish hideaway. Although we are located in the rural village of South Brewham we are close to the delights of Bruton with all its offerings. You have your own entrance, a lush kingsize bed, an ensuite walk-in shower, coffee and tea making facilities and a small fridge. An additional single bed can be made up on the mezzanine. The space We hope that you will find time to relax and unwind here...perhaps go for a long country walk around Alfred's tower followed by a pub lunch or if you fancy a little more sophistication you can wander down Bruton High Street popping into the unique shops or have a meal at one of the amazing places to eat ..The Chapel, The Pharmacy, Briar or the acclaimed Michelin star Osip ( about 2 minutes from here). Not only are we close to The Newt, Hauser and Wirth Gallery (with it's Piet Ouldolf Garden, shop and restaurant) and Stourhead (NT) but there's also a wealth of other special places to visit including gorgeous farm shops( offering seasonal and local produce), the bustling Frome Independent Market laden with an array of inspiring artisans and The Giant Flea Market in Shepton Mallot which is unmissable! Then, of course, there's the beautiful and historic towns of Castle Cary, Sherborne and Frome to explore. Guest access The Rook is solely yours to enjoy with easy parking right outside. There's a mezzanine level which gives a quiet spot to read ( however the ceiling is low up there!) Other things to note We can set up an additional single bed ( single mattress on the floor )for a child on the mezzanine level, if needed, at an additional charge of £20. We can also provide a continental breakfast with local artisan bread/ croissants and home made preserves (price on request)
