Historic Poehlman House- 2nd floor bedroom
The Historic Poehlman house was finished in 1898 by Conrad Poehlman. Hand crafted into the hillside directly across from Abraham Lincoln’s tomb and rolling hills of the beautiful Oakridge Cemetery. Mr Poehlman raised 7 boys and 3 girls in the 3 story brick home. Standing tall and modest at the very end of the street of a very quiet neighborhood. The rooms are spacious but cozy enough to make you feel right at home. The space The room is a very large space with lots of amenities. There is a plush queen bed, dresser, night stand, small desk, tv and walk in closet. It is on the second floor along with my room, a cozy sitting area and the full newly remodeled bath with large walk in shower. Minutes from downtown, hospitals, shopping and tourist attractions. After a long day of exploring the town, relax and have a soak in the hot tub off the large back deck, or just sit by the fire and listen to some music. Dogs are allowed but must check the pet box and notify me of how many. There is a pet fee that will be automatically added. Be sure to check out my first floor room if your dates aren’t available for this room. Guest access Full use of the kitchen, laundry, sitting areas and back deck with hot tub and fire pits. Plenty of well lit parking out front. During your stay I’m always doing something around the house, so I will be around or in and out. I love hosting guests and socializing. My dog Booth is a big love bug and He will love on you the minute he meets you. Pip is deaf and knows some sign language. He can be skittish at first but will warm up. Especially if big brother Booth is there. Other things to note Be sure to bring your swim suits. I’m also close to a few excellent bike/walking trails, so if you have room for your bike. Also, be sure to check out the Frank Lloyd Wright House, Designed for Springfield socialite Susan Lawrence Dana, built in 1902. The Old State Capital and State Capital Building are also a must see. There is a Lincoln Souvenir shop a block away for that last minute gift.
