Historic thatched roof house Frieda from 1721 in a quiet location in Aventoft, right on the Danish border. Up to six people live on about 100 square meters with garden, terrace and beach chair. Three bedrooms, modern bathroom with shower and tub, guest toilet, renovated kitchen and Wi-Fi. Ideal for peace seekers, nature lovers and excursions to the Wadden Sea, Denmark, Sylt or Föhr. Other things to note The historic thatched-roof house "Frieda" from 1721 can accommodate up to six people and combines traditional charm with modern comfort. The location Aventoft is located on a geest island on the Wiedau, at the northernmost edge of Germany, right on the Danish border in the middle of a marsh landscape. But Aventoft is also located right on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site of the Wadden Sea, with exceptional nature and scenery. On the southern outskirts of Aventoft is the beautiful thatched-roof vacation home. The surroundings seem vast and quiet. Fields and meadows dominate the view. The Danish border can be reached in a few minutes. This makes the location well suited for day trips to Tønder, Møgeltønder and Højer or to the wide coastline of the Danish North Sea. Trips to Sylt (via Klanxbüll) or Föhr/Amrum (via Dagebüll) are also possible without major problems. To the north is the Danish island of Rømø is 50 km away, and in the east you can reach the Baltic Sea coast and Flensburg at a distance of 50 km. About 3 km away, the museum of the world-famous painter Emil Nolde attracts visitors with changing exhibitions and a colorful flower garden. Aventoft is one of the quiet municipalities in North Frisia. Even in summer, the streets remain quiet. Many guests appreciate this tranquility and the clear air. The village offers basic services with a supermarket. For further shopping, you can drive to Süderlügum in about ten minutes or to Niebüll in about fifteen minutes. The region offers ideal conditions for cyclists. Flat paths lead through meadows and small villages. Bicycles can be rented directly on site at a distance of about 100 m from "Fahrrad-Wollesen" in Aventoft. The proximity to the Wiedau and the vast salt marshes brings varied nature to your doorstep. Bird lovers can observe large flocks of ducks, geese and swans throughout the year. In spring and autumn, a spectacular natural phenomenon can be observed in the Danish-German border area from Aventoft. Huge flocks of starlings gather before sunset and form fascinating patterns that are supposed to ward off birds of prey and almost cover the sun. The natural spectacle is also called the "black sun" (in Danish, "sort sol"). The amenities The thatched-roof house offers a harmonious interplay of traditional construction and modern amenities over approximately 100 square meters. The extensive renovation in 2021 gave the historic building a new luster while preserving its original character. The central living area combines the kitchen, dining area, and sofa corner into a bright room with a clear structure. The windows let in plenty of daylight and open up the view into the garden. The kitchen offers modern appliances, a large work surface and harmonious colors. A refrigerator, oven, induction hob, coffee machine, electric kettle, as well as dishes and cutlery reliably cover everyday needs. The dining area is located in the middle of the room. A solid wooden table offers space for shared meals. The sofa corner is located at the transition to the terrace. A generous leather couch ensures comfortable evenings, and a TV offers entertainment for quiet hours. The terrace borders the garden and offers a spacious outdoor area for relaxing hours. A large wooden table with matching garden chairs is good for al fresco dining. The beach chair creates a sheltered space for reading or resting. The spacious garden offers plenty of space for rest, exercise and undisturbed time in the countryside. The vacation home has three cozy bedrooms with a clear and homey design. Two of the rooms are equipped with large double beds (180 x 200). The calm wall colors, exposed beams, and solid wood furniture create a cozy atmosphere. The third bedroom offers two single beds (90 x *contact info removed*). The room has a friendly feel due to its bright design and is well suited for children or friends traveling together. An old children's desk completes the furnishings. All bedrooms offer plenty of storage space and invite you to have restful nights. The bathroom offers a floor-level shower. The facilities are complemented by a bathtub suitable for relaxing moments. A large washstand with two faucets creates comfortable storage surfaces and makes it easier for several people to use. The combination of white tiles, wood details and subtle rose tones gives the bathroom a friendly atmosphere. In addition, a separate guest toilet is available, which increases comfort in everyday life. Features The vacation home "Frieda" is a non-smoking property and offers free Wi-Fi. Two parking spaces in the double carport plus a storage room, also suitable for bicycles, are right by the house. A separate laundry room with a washing machine for exclusive use provides additional comfort. A crib and high chair are available and can be provided on request (please let us know in advance). A gas grill can be booked and costs 25 euros per stay. An initial set of bed linens and towels is already included in the final price. Please note that installers are welcome upon request. We ask for prior coordination. For stays longer than two weeks, weekly interim cleaning is mandatory.
